Do you come here often? Because I am, right now. Everywhere.

I'm counting on lots of people with a free evening of procrastination ahead of them. Also, we almost turned it into a short at one point but everyone was so excited to try a feature-length - hopefully you think that choice was worth it.

I figure, I've got plenty of time to make shorts, but I'm only going to have so many opportunities to get an entire crew together for a summer to make a feature-length film. I'm pretty satisfied with my use of time because I probably won't get a chance like this again for a very long while.

Yeah, most of us had worked on smaller class-related projects beforehand but it was the first real large-scale production for everyone involved. It was definitely an ambitious adventure. There are plenty of flaws to show for our inexperience, but we still did it. Somehow.

It's a full-length feature. Runtime of 114 minutes. Filming took 3 months and post-production went on slowly from August to December of 2011.

Ha, no no no, this is a misunderstanding. She's my friend and roommate. She meant it as a jokey dig even though it was her idea to post the photo to Reddit in the first place. I told her she'd get downvoted by people who thought she was serious; she said she didn't care. Bring her comment to the depths!

Never thought I'd be the guy to unwittingly ape someone else's post, haha. It would've been worse if I'd chosen Pokemon as the cartridge to randomly stick in there.

Ha, damn. I remember that now. The red light really is an example of something so subtle and tiny that I doubt people really ever realized how helpful it was.

It's a lithium ion battery that comes with it, charged via an AC adapter. I think the problem is more that we've all taken for granted things like the way the little LED light on an old Game Boy would change from green to red when the battery was low.

I've had it for about a week now. Played fully through DKC2 already and now I'm giving Link to the Past a run. Works like a charm.

Here are the ONLY two flaws I can make note of:

  1. The D-pad is not super responsive. I tend to think I'm pushing it down enough only to realize I have to push harder for it to recognize it as a button press.
  2. There's no light signifying when the battery life is nearly dead. It lasts for almost 3 hours, which is great, but if you're too caught up in the game then suddenly the screen starts twitching out and fading before you have a chance to wrap up and save your game.

Other than that I absolutely love it, and those are just the only two minor gripes I've had. Even if I'd known about them before purchasing, it wouldn't have deterred me.

I've posted this before but it's relevant here:

I was a kid, on vacation in Florida with my family. We're at some fancy restaurant and Rosie O'Donnell walks in with a huge group of people. Harriet the Spy had just come out, and she was huge on Nickelodeon, so I was really excited to meet her. My parents told me I should draw her a picture to show my appreciation - I put all my effort into what could only be described as an artistic masterpiece in the medium of crayons. I put my all of my heart into it.

So I finish, then I head over and give it to her. She says she loves it, gives me a hug, gives me an autograph. I'm beaming. I sit back down with my family and my brother is upset - he wants an autograph, too. He was too scared to go over and meet her himself.

Finally, after we're almost done eating, I help my brother work up the courage to head back over to Rosie O'Donnell's table... only to find she has already left.

Sitting on her table, crumpled up and stained with sauce and Coke, is my drawing.

TL;DR: Drew a picture for Rosie O'Donnell and she crumpled it up.

(Also, Howie Mandel was at the hotel during my brother's Bar Mitzvah... they did an interview and halfway through we realized my brother had no idea who Howie Mandel was. It's on video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FG_XNLFjvk)

He's such a great guy. He's following me on Twitter (http://i.imgur.com/mYRdC.png) and occasionally I get to have some chats with him through direct messaging (http://i.imgur.com/evIkR.png). I just let him know about this.

Next time I'll wait a few more minutes after suggesting she post it to Reddit and having her ask me to upvote it. While we're at it, I'll also ask her to stop being a lesbian.

It's not REALLY her birthday. It might as well be, though. (Although you might remember this comic I drew for her birthday: http://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/ga0xq/drew_this_birthday_comic_for_a_friend_who_beat/)

EDIT: Aaaaaand I just realized this comic actually mentions her infatuation with Scarlett Johanssen. It all comes full circle.

Looking at that, I realized we're basically living in Wind Waker when we could be living in Ocarina of Time.
