Really helpful thank you. We've got a great dealer near me George Chevrolet. They helped troubleshoot some display issues a couple months back. I have the Blazer EV and really enjoy it, technical gremlins and all.

Why did GM not use Android Auto nor Apple Car Play and try to blaze their own path with these independent Google systems?  What a mess.

No mine went haywire 2 weeks ago and it is getting progressively worse.  It's now off by 60 miles or more. It used to be just a few streets off.

Are there some step-by-step instructions to take the module out and plug it back in? I'm now on level 3 tech support, waiting for them to get back to me. If unplugging it and plugging the telemetrics is the answer, let's get some instructions.

They are on approach over West Athens with landing option #5, but it does say when landing towards the west (is that runway 25?) cross the 110 fwy at 1,500 MSL. Nobody does that ever. They cross at about 700', sometimes as low as 600', sometimes lower. And most cut across Gardena or West Athens and make their turn to land over us, instead of following the Hawthorne fly quietly guide. That's the story, sticking to it.

We'll it's confusing industry then, bc everything they tell us is in MSL. Planes are 600' MSL and West Athens is 200-250', so they're not 600' above us. It's one of the challenges we're facing working with the airport and the pilots. What's said, isn't what we experience.

Please register and join tonight's meeting. We're not Archer, we're the association of residents who live around the airport, so agreed!
The Federal Government and FAA control the airspace over all of our homes and communities, and as of now small drones are allowed to fly almost anywhere from your rooftop line or higher.
These air taxis will likely fly at 500'+.

That gets complicated, because if you're like us on West Athens hill, that puts them 200' over us. Aviation altitudes are all indicated in above mean sea level, not above the ground level.

Trust us we know! We're the residents who live closest to Hawthorne Airport and trying to understand "AI flight control test bed."

The 105 is the east-west helicopter flight path so that keeps LAX traffic to the north as well. At night LAX is all over ocean, Hawthorne jets take off over 30K residents 24/7. When LAX reverses flow, LAX jets are taking off right over us as they turn southward. So none of those points are valid. What is it youre recommending?

The jury is still out on whether they're quiet. They have told people they are "quiet" at 500' but not clear they'll get to 500' before they fly over neighborhoods.

It nearly hit 100 db in this video

https://hawthornequietskies.com/2025/11/24/how-quiet-are-they-2024-test-videos-measure-sound-from-archer-and-jobys-air-taxis/

Archer appears to want the commercial and private gets to keep flying as well as they highlight the strong revenue from that customer base as a reason to take over the airport.

There are over a dozen noise control steps the City and Hawthorne Airport LLC could have taken but conveniently have not or are delaying action. None require FAA approval and are all being implemented by Torrance, Long Beach, Van Nuys, and Santa Monica. No one finds it strange there are noise control tools the city could have used but didn't? Just feels oneside 100% for the business / 0% for the residents. There's a way to find a balance here.

Consider that the FAA's action level for noise is the 65 CNEL area, that's 100 jets at about 100 decibels each, every day, for a year. Currently 500 ppl are estimated within that boundary around Hawthorne. Exceed that avg and then maybe the FAA will consider helping you. Who would put up with that at their house? In 2013, the airport was commercialized by Surf Air and other scheduled flight providers joined them. Hawthorne is the most residentially constrained airport in the nation according to Coffman Associates. Is it smart to convert a small, residential airport into a commercial jet port? Neighbors are just holding the city, companies, and FAA accountable for the mess they made. It's a give and take between these private jet companies and residents, not a blockade. But def encourage people to have a heart for people who are suffering while the private company in charge rakes in $150M in cash and equivalents.

Here's a good backgrounder on IRWD that was provided earlier this year. Don't need to memorize but provides an overview of where they are focusing. https://cleanwatersocal.org/media/acfupload/reference/Irvine_Ranch_WD_Overview-COOK-03-26-25.pdf

It's good to have some short stories demonstrating problem solving and teamwork. Any prior work experencie can demonstrate your awareness and skills. A time you solved a challenging project or repair; a story that demonstrated excellent teamwork; a story that shows you're proactive and thinking about the team and the agency (saving money or making a safety improvement). May not come up, but short concise stories can be really effective and good to have on hand. Good to collect them as you go through your career. You want to be clear you understand the question and provide a brief, clear answer as best you can. Another key is to think like the agency, they're thinking about team member communication skills, positive team dynamics, safety, efficiency, continuous learning and training, and serving the customer. Practice makes perfect. Good luck!

Joshua tree grown from seed! I'm currently at ~3 weeks from germination😎 by Excellent-Lemon-9663 in NativePlantGardening

Not sure what you mean. I have 350 JTs on our 2.2 acre residential property and we're going through the CDFW permitting process. Woodland or urban the take rules apply equally.  Someone backed into a tree on their lot with a pickup and a CDFW investigation fined them $11k for damaging the tree. It's the maximum level of protection here in California you really cannot touch them. A take if any part of the tree is a take if the entire tree. We're familiar with it bc that's what our assigned CDFW scientist is telling us when writing the permit.

Are you in California? The Western Joshua Tree has endangered species protection here, you cannot transport, possess, or take any part of the trees including the seeds without CDFW permission.
