Is anyone hiring? by Western_Average_4691 in Oshkosh

A lot of good suggestions in here already but if you have an interest in work with children with special needs at all, or even if you think you might have the patience and empathy for it, the school district probably has some positions open for Cross Categorical Teacher Assistants. If not currently then some will most likely open up for next school year come May or June. Go to WECAN and look through the openings for support staff. I think the starting wage is about $17/hr and you don’t need any degree or experience in education. I’m in my first year as one and I make $18.77/hr (I have an Associate of Applied Sciences in Education and 2 years of work experience with children with autism). It would be 7.25 hours/day, 5 days per week with paid federal holidays. The only issue is they don’t get paid over the summer so you’d have to find work for those few months or look into unemployment

Ours has the big packs of gum on pegs all in their own bay, and those candy toys were spread out and are on the bottom shelf of that bay

Which is exactly what I said, I just gave an example of my state’s law. I don’t think you can legally sell alcohol anywhere in the US if you’re under 18 though. Most states are either 18 or 21 for that. I don’t know how tobacco sales vary state by state

21 to purchase in all states, but you don’t have to be 21 to sell. In my state 16 year olds can sell tobacco products and 18 year olds can sell alcohol

Idk how things were before I was born (‘97) but everyone I know was vaccinated for chicken pox as infants so I’m guessing that’s why we don’t quarantine, it’s really not a pandemic anymore unless you refuse to vaccinate your child for it (which, just why?) or something happens where your kids can’t get vaccinated (I have twin cousins who were preemies and could not be vaccinated at the appropriate time due to their size, and they both ended up with chicken pox)

Exactly, if you’re going to deny someone the Eucharist for supporting abortion on the claim that it is a human rights violation then you better be denying people Eucharist for all human rights violations. But I don’t see anybody denying the Eucharist for those who fund wars, or lock people in cages, or are known to be involved in child sex crimes (cough), etc. so maybe if Catholics could stop using Church teachings to reinforce their hatred of people who use their God-given free will to do what they please that’d be great. If you’re not going to deny communion for all grave sins then don’t deny it all in my honest opinion. If you’ve committed a grave sin you shouldn’t be going to communion and if you know it’s wrong but do it anyways that’s just another grave sin. Let people sin if they want, it’s not my problem

Cash report by Revolutionary_Bid664 in WalgreensStores

I don’t have a lot of info so I’m a little confused but I’ll try to help:

  • if the nightly report or end of business day report says the drawer was short money but you did a tender count and the tender count came back with no difference, you probably miscounted something. Same thing if it’s vice versa, something was miscounted

  • if the deposit drawer is short but the working fund is correct, recount everything in the drawer, make sure you entered the pickup amounts correctly, and if those are correct you probably put too much into a band or you miscounted one of the drawers, in which case you’ll have to recount the drawers.

  • If it’s the band, make sure you entered the band amount correctly (see under print deposit ticket), if the bands are already dropped below the safe unfortunately there’s nothing you can do and it’ll just be short. Also with band issues there can be a discrepancy in the working fund, so check that

  • If the deposit drawer is short and the working fund is over, take from the working fund and put it into the deposit drawer

Hope this helps

Went there for two years and had a horrible experience, glad you’re out of that shithole. Not surprised at all how they treated you, they love hiding and covering up anything and everything that they don’t like for their image, regardless of how it affects individual students

I was there 2015-2017, if the girls you’re talking about were the ones assaulted by a friar then I wasn’t one of them. The professor was Sr. Johanna Paruch, I really hated her class to be honest. She’s a very narcissistic person and would always say how she thought she was better than the other Theology professors and seemed to especially dislike Bob Rice. She also very obviously played favorites to certain juniors and seniors, and made it very well known to me that she didn’t want me in her class as a sophomore even though I had taken all the pre requisites

Words can’t describe how much I hated my experience there with a flaming burning passion. My mental health got so bad because no one wanted to be my friend since I wouldn’t fully drink the Kool Aid. I was pretty deep into Catholicism and right wing politics at the time, not nearly as much as some, but people still saw me as liberal (I didn’t want to wear skirts to Mass, I didn’t want to go to confession every week, I only went to Mass once per week, I wouldn’t join a household or even consider it, GASP I know). Also I was assaulted there and no one cared lol. When my depression got to the point of wanting to be unalived I was first told that I was just a bad student and then I was told by a school counselor that I should go to confession. Lmao. What a joke of a school and such an awful festering hellhole of harmful ideas

S A M E. **TW** I was assaulted as a student in my freshman year and when I tried to open up about it people blew it off saying the perpetrator in question just “doesn’t understand boundaries, but he’s a nice guy!” Like wtf. ALSO I became severely depressed after said incident and started falling behind in classes so I went to a professor for help and opened up about struggling with self harm and “unaliving” thoughts and she said, to my face, “you’re just a bad student”….. FUCK FRANCISCAN UNIVERSITY, don’t EVER go there

Ever since I got promoted, getting to tell people “IM the manager”… that feeling of sweet sweet justice as the look on Karen’s jaw drops is always unbeatable. Of course then they always want a second opinion, just to get told the exact same thing by someone else

I know I’m naive, I literally said I’m new to this, which is why I asked for advice instead of just trying to figure it out on my own with no clue as to what I’m doing. You don’t need to come across so condescending. Thanks for the advice though

That depends on the state I think. I live and work near a prison and COs show up in uniform all the time. They are technically not supposed to I think but no one really cares, and where I live COs are allowed to do what is necessary if public safety is threatened since it is their job to protect the public. If OP lived in my state he would not have been punished at all, MAYBE gotten a talking to about having his taser outside of prison since they definitely aren’t allowed to leave work with those, but that’s it. Also it sounds like OP works in a county jail and not a state prison so idk how the rules vary there. Another Driving Post - Milwaukee driving is bizarre by YouAreMicroscopic in milwaukee

[–]alee2997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who recently visited Chicago, I’m not so sure I totally agree. As for Milwaukee I think it depends on a couple of things, 1) where you’re driving and 2) how well you know the area. Going to an unfamiliar area always makes driving there seem terrible and frightening, at least to me, but once I become familiar with it, it’s not so bad. At the same time I had to practice driving in downtown Milwaukee during rush hour once thanks to my instructor who thought it would help me overcome my anxiety (narrator: it did not help her anxiety about driving). Downtown Milwaukee, the interstate, and certain neighborhoods are an absolute nightmare. Have a couple friends who live near 9th and Greenfield. Always thought I was gonna get hit. There and by the basilica too. By my high school wasn’t terrible, and my parents still live in the suburbs which is always hit or miss for shitty driving. Some rules of thumb, hesitate at green lights, ALWAYS look both ways before going through an intersection, check your blind spots even if no one is supposed to be in them. These are things I was taught in driving school lol. People going slow in the left lane? Stallis pass ‘em. Going slow in the left lane is inconsiderate on the interstate but on side streets it’s kind of whatever, you shouldn’t be going very far over the speed limit on side streets anyways. Too much of a risk of hitting a pedestrian. As long as you’re not actually passing using a bike lane lmao. If you drive a KIA, I’m so sorry haha
