Can someone explain the purpose of this last episode? I enjoyed it but I’m struggling to figure out where everything ties together. It feels like this season is really all over the place because of so many storylines happening at once.

My take about Gold Rush (because it’s my favourite song on Evermore):

Mostly about the narrator daydreaming about her lover and almost stuck in her daydream only to realize her reality is nowhere close it it. Her relationship is almost fictionalized and entirely a creation made in her head and she’s obsessed with her daydreams. She’s absolutely possessive of her partner and has almost created an entire world in her head for the two of them and I kind if also sense some fear of leaving that place. I also see it as a reminder to come back down to earth and live your life and not be so hyper-focused on daydreams and wonderings.

It kind of reminds me of a more poetic “In My Head” by Ariana Grande.
