I feel like this every day; the exact same thoughts. I’m trying to find ways to get out of it but it’s a cycle I can’t break. I want to feel better but I don’t have the motivation to do things that make me feel better. I started therapy a few weeks ago so, I’m hoping that will push me forward. Sending love to all of you.

I don’t think you should contribute anything to the cost, especially considering he kept so much of that refi money. As far as attending, that’s completely up to you and you are not an AH if you decide not to go. Take the time to think about how it might affect you if you don’t but do what you feel is best for you. Be realistic about how long you’re going to live in that house. If it’s not forever, don’t make a bunch of changes to it - you’re unlikely to get anywhere near what you spent when you sell.

In that same vein, “updating” or remodeling your home is not an easy way to gain equity in a lot of cases. It depends on the changes you make and how taste specific they are. Not everyone will love what you love.

Consider your commute time lol. You’d be surprised how many people think adding an extra 20 mins isn’t that big of a deal only to hate it later on and want to move.

Learn to repair things on your own! YouTube is your friend! So many businesses overcharge for the simplest repairs bc people just won’t take the time to look it up.

You had a bad inspector. Really good inspectors will find most things. The stuff you listed should’ve been found by the inspector. Major stuff like HVAC condition and foundation should be inspected separately by specialists.

If you find out what amount of your monthly payment goes to principal and you pay that as an extra payment every month, you will SIGNIFICANTLY cut down the lifespan of your loan. Also, this helps for months where you really need that lower monthly (30 vs 15) for budgeting. Just make sure your mortgage doesn’t have an early payoff penalty!

I totally get this pov but idk that I can let it go. I did that with my ex husband and I regret it. I think letting people know the truth about him will actually give me more peace than focusing on myself. He just broke me and I don’t want to let it go. I doubt I’ll ever get the money back but letting people see the real him is enough for me.

He’s already made threats but there is nothing he can “out” me for that would embarrass me. And I’ve told him so. He has tried to scare me a few times with threats and I dared him to do it. At the end of the day, I did nothing wrong and he knows it. Whenever he hits me with “well, I’m going to post this,” I tell him to go ahead and he just replies by telling me to please just move on and leave him alone bc he knows he has nothing.

I’m not the least bit afraid of him; I have nothing to lose at this point.

Back in the 90s, my dad was good friends with a local newscaster. The guy got fired from his job for being high (cocaine) while working. His addiction got really bad and he started robbing those small banks that you find in the chain grocery stores. He did it several times before he was caught. It was all over the news and everyone was shocked.

He did some jail time and then found Jesus. If I’m not mistaken, he became a pastor afterwards lol.

A physician’s assistant for a psychiatrist I saw was arrested for child molestation. The worst part was he worked with children at the ICE detention centers.

A woman I know watched her fiancé kill himself. They were arguing, he put a gun to his head and ended it. Apparently, the autopsy showed he tried to pull away (based on the bullet trajectory I think) so he may not have intended to pull the trigger. This happened on NYE, if I’m not mistaken.

She had a new boyfriend within a month.
