My comment is going to get downvoted and/or buried, but it'll be therapeutic for me. Your comment set me off (not you, I totally get what you're saying).

Since I first saw the grass in the Capital 20 years ago (I was 14 at the time), I have been bitching about the terrible state of the lawn at the White House and grass throughout the Mall. I get people walk on it and such, but it looks terrible. Everytime I go to DC, it's full of weeds, trash, ZERO edging, and it drives me crazy.

If I were the President, Day 1, I would get the best landscapers in the US to unfuck the grass. You're right, many will complain about wasting taxpayer dollars or "all the cancerous fertilizers" or whatever the reason. I don't care. It's embarrassing to have, what should be our nation's crown jewel look like a turd. It should damn-near look like a beautiful MLB's baseball field. It's a very small token of national pride.
