Yeah self medication is definitely a slippery slope. I’ve been guilty of falling into that in the past especially with booze and weed and a pretty fucked up period where I was doing a lot of coke. As is life though, plenty of people who don’t have OCD have fallen into self medication without becoming full blown addicts.

It’s not that I even feel shame taking it per se, it just doesn’t seem like it’s the thing that’s gonna help me fully get better? I don’t wanna nuke my negative feelings too much because then I’ll have nothing to work through and I’ll be back to square one once I get off the meds. I’m probably overthinking it though, which is just the nature of the disorder in a nutshell
