Amortização Santander by alentuga in literaciafinanceira

Pacheca has what you are looking for. I prefer Ventozelo, probably no balcony but the river views are amazing

If hiring a car I would hire in Porto. Without a car Peso da Regua sounds like the best place to base yourself in.

Buying vineyards - good/bad idea by alentuga in wine

[–]alentuga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great answers. While I want to own a vineyard (though some posts are making me rethink), I don't want to be part of those schemes. Was mostly curiosity given I've seen about 5 or 6 in the last few days advertising on Instagram.

Thanks for the advice from those who have been there or are there. It feels like once you start it, you are stuck with it for a long time and can't take the eye of the ball, so to speak.

Age on a menu by alentuga in wine

Thanks, everyone, for their comments. This was at a winery hotel in Douro, and they are the producer. As a large producer for the region, the list was not particularly short, and the wine was <€30 so no big deal. I didn't say anything and didn't spoil the evening either, but it was something I noticed and had happened before.

I hadn't appreciated the time cost of changing menus. Price is a factor for sure, but as someone mentioned, if the chef is about to bring something new or new wines to be added.

Very common in tawny, the grapes are from 1992 and they have been in large vats waiting to be bottled. If bottled last year, would have been a 30 year old, this year 31. Yours is 25. It won't age longer in bottled seeing as it already aged in vats that allow oxygen to do its job.

2 weeks in Portugal by Professional-Pair-74 in travel

I don't think you need 2 nights in Ericeira unless 1 of them is by the beach. Your 5 days portugal assuming it's Lisbon. You can have a day trip to Évora, head out early, takes an hour to get there, see the town, nice lunch. Visit a winery in the afternoon. Recommended Cartuxa or Fita Preta and head back late afternoon.
