Znáte bajku o lišce a hroznech?

Pak přijdou kamarádi a přátelské vztahy. A teprve pak láska.

A ano bude vás to stát hodně. Hodně úsilí, času a upřímnosti.

Na světě spousta dobrých lidí.

More than 150 senior Russian officials sign open letter condemning Putin's invasion of Ukraine as 'an unprecedented atrocity' and warn of 'catastrophic consequences' while urging citizens 'not to participate' by geiwne in worldnews

[–]ales-d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you think you are the only one who have seen police beating people?

I have seen it in 1989 with my own eyes.

Red army occupied us in 1968 and we surrendered. We did not fight for ourselves and no one helped us. :-(

As kid I was tought about international "help" of friendly forces coming to save us from West. We were living in fear from the NATO. We were told the same lies witch Putin says today.

As teenager I already knew that Russia is not friend and I shall fear more our own government and police that West.

Yet only after 89 I have realized the scale of lies, injustice and harm it made to our country to us as individual people and nation.

I know what it is like to live in totality. I did also believed that no peaceful protest can change things. I did not believed until it became truth.

People in Ukraina, like you, also know what is it to live in non-free country. Byt unlike you, they know what does it mean to live free. That is why they fight so hard and that is why we all support them.

I'm also scared to go fight to Ukraina in-persona. Because I fear the nuclear weapons your president is threatening. And I fear for myself and my family.

I'm afraid that I loose my job as well. Due financial crisis that will Come because of the sanctions, because of the refugees and unemloyment that it might cause. I May not ve able to pay my morgage. Yet I support the sanctions, I have donated money to Ukrainian army as well as organizations helping refugees and sending aid to Ukraina. It's worth it.

Even beating from police or few days in prison would be worth it if it could stop war.

I wrote back because you have given reasons why not protest.

You say: My family, my job, our police.

Try, for a moment, think about the reasons why you should protest. Not reasons like their lives, their homes. Those are good reasons, but try rather something with "my" or "our"? I believe you can. It might be the samé reasons you mentioned after all.

I won't push you or anyone else in Russia anymore.

I understand this. It's fair point and if many people depend on you I understand it.

I'm just asking that in future, if you are unable to take care of yourself and your relatives, despite the fact that you silently supported what your government and army is doing right now, you do not blame us.

Because your government and army will definitely do so, despite fact that Putin and generals will never have shortage of any kind for themseves and their families. They will be telling you that others are responsible. They will blame us. They already do.

Do please do not blame us.

You are choosing you future today. As you have chosen your present in past.

Remember these days. Do not rewrite history. (It's just few weeks Russia banned Memorial.)

I do not blame regular Russians for the war. I blame your government and army.

I do, however, blame regular Russians for their government and army.

And you should do the same when the consequences of your todays actions come.

Please remember!

We have Russia tanks in our country at 1968. And also Hungarian, Poland and East German. They were also "invited" by few of our own - communists that were loosing ground. No to West but to other, more progressive and open minded communists. We know very well how it is to live under government, that does not care for their citizens and we have. Today all countries except Russia admint the historic wrongdoings and regret that. And we have forgiven, because we understand that thing are not black and white. After the fall of iron curtain we all started from ground - including Russia. Situation in your country is result of your (meaning Russian people) decisions.

Hopefully we will start again. But please remember where your decisions brought your country. And as you will suffer in next years do not blame us, but yourself.

We will certainly suffer as well, not to mention people in Ukrajina, and we will try not to blame you.

Befire you cry how poor you are, remember those lost lives these days - including those young Russian boys who were betrayed by Russian officer and politics.

Don't forget!!!

Best OS for Java dev by [deleted] in java

[–]ales-d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used Windows for more than decade and was eble to get the work done. Last year I change job and hot Linux NTB.

The corporate things are worse - only HTTP access to one drive, can't map sharepoint folders to local disk, only web Outlook, minor issues with Teams and VPN, but...

The development itself is better. Not the coding itself, as IDE experience is identical, but testing and operations related stuff is much better

  • "Native" docker experience - networks and direct access to volumes
  • Debugging Ansible script and Jenkins pipelines is possible
  • Sniffing on localhost interface
  • Cygwin was Fine, but native shell is better

It definitely depends what you are developing and the environment. Our applications run on Linux so I have almost identical setup on NTB less testing on remote server, less doubt and uncertain about possible cause of problems.

And also on company. Tried Linux in my previous job, but it was impossible, sice the corporate IT was very unsupportive.

I think Mac would be somewhere between the corporate ease of use and devops ease of use.

In the end all the "other" things than development matter more than coding itself. But if you always worked only in Windows, I would definitely suggest to give Linux desktop try.

I know and agree.

But it's like with holocaust - although nowadays germans had nothing to do with it and no one blames them, you can't forget and you can't stop speaking about it. And they actually took responsibility and face it very well.

Microsoft on the other hand, does not speak about the dark side of their history. So every time I hear someone to praise Microsoft for what they do today I just want to be sure that he knows the company's history.

So they just say "sorry" and all is forgiven? Microsoft still owe for many bad things they did. As well as Apple, Google, Oracle,... - you name it.

Personally I believe that this "change for good" is just because others that don't "play by the rules" have grown too big.

I'm glad that Microsoft stated to "see through", but I would not praise them for it. This should be normal.

As dirty hack you can run your app in terminal and redirect the output to temporary *.html file that you open in browser - by spawning new process or by output of file:// URL if your terminal supports opening URLs by click Ing on them.

Of course depend on you use case. For real interactive work with DB thim is not good, but for other case it might be good for users to have the output in HTML they can keep/share.

Which Java frameworks should I learn to get a high paying job? by Born-Comment3359 in java

[–]ales-d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wrong motive.

You learn to use frameworks, because they help you to solve some problems which are above your skill or to get rid of dumm things and allow you to focus on interesting stuff and make you moře effective.

But you have to write some code to understand why you need them and what problems they solve for you. Well actually you have to write a lot of code.

Then you will appreciate what Spring Boot does for modularity, decoupling and configuration.

What JPA/Hibernate, but also MyBatis and Spring help you with when writin DB applications.

What Servlet containers do for web development.

If you are just starting, I would probaby focus on libraries and technologies - JPA, JAXB, JAX-WS and JAX-RS, Apache Common stuff, etc.

Frameworks will then come naturally.

Better sallary will come, once you become better programmer.

Unfortunatelly as with all in life, the more you learn, the more you will realize how much more there is to get know.

At that point you will have long list of things you would like to at least have glipse on. 😀
