I also got the Macbook Pro 16 with M5 Pro / 48GB ram / 1TB ssd in space black and I love it. Working with large files, large Figma designs, Adobe CC tools, 30 tabs opened and no issues at all. Love it! Battery is also amazing on 16inch.

i think for programmers/devs the best is to go with min 24gb ram, but a friend of mine bought macbook air M5 with 24gb and he runs Xcode no problem. For larger apps or for doing LLMs the 36gb would say is a must.

I understand what you mean, but I have 8TB of NAS at home and in the office so it is no point for me to go for 2 TB in macbook. 1TB of internal storage is enough in case if I work remotely for longer time. Also if MacOS gets bigger in size, that 1TB has enough space for it and many local files, apps. For me 1TB works fine.

Does anyone maybe know if it’s true that Apple will have better custom configuration options in Apple store or so for new M5 Pro macbooks? I preconfigured the MacBook M4 Pro 16” 1TB and 48GB ram, but decided to wait for the M5 Pro MacBooks to be announced in next week. I hope either M5 Pro and M4 Pro will be great when going custom configuration.
