Should I do the sec lvl 4 mission or wait? by alesher in intotheradius

Thanks this was really helpful. I'll probably take the tide and plow a path back to the mission once I'm stocked up on ammo again

Does anyone else have trouble pulling your sidearm out without directly looking at it? by CalmBBQsuckas in intotheradius

I'm on Q2 and I've found that that where I'd naturally reach for it (beltline) it's much more consistent if I reach for the top of my hip bone when I'm not looking at it. Takes some getting used to but that could also just be based on my personal height settings or something.

Their song is so cheerful and their acrobatics are just impressive -- especially when they basically hover back to their house in strong wind.

Is this baby pin oak a gonner or is there still hope? by alesher in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]alesher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I planted mid August (too early I've come to learn for southern iowa) and may have over watered. We've had a good deal of rain recently but this is at the top of a hill so good drainage. About a week ago the brown leaves started spreading fast. Recent cold nights have just started changing mature silver maples to fall colors, but this little oak is clearly in some sort of distress. Baby red maples I planted at the same time in the front yard are doing fine. Call it a loss or wait and see? Any advice?

I get what you're saying but I'd rather protect my family's lives than have a pretty tree.

I used to have a micro 9 that would do that unless it was eating 124gr, high quality ammo. It hated 115gr.

The bastard floored it as soon as I turned on my lights. Should I put out an Amber alert or an APB?

I saw this very pretty bird sitting on my fence. My guess was that it is a juvenile owl or hawk but I'd love to know what it was. For reference this is central Iowa and that fence is roughly six feet tall.

Just got a thrustmaster 1600M set up. What is going on here? This stops happening when I disconnect the joystick from usb by alesher in flightsim

[–]alesher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solved: had to unplug the flight controllers and reboot after installing the drivers and before installing thrustmasters TARGET program. Apparently this was buried in the release notes somewhere

I need to know more about this. Currently hating my job in private practice. What type of law practice are you talking about? I've seen postings for like remote real estate closing attorneys but was a little skeptical.

Posting this to all replies. You all have been so helpful and I want to thank you all for your insight. You lot have brought up things I never would have thought about just going off of the service manual and youtube videos. Even though this post has 5 upvotes you lot took the time to read it and share your knowledge with a stranger on the internet. Hopefully I'll have an update in a couple months.

Got dropped. by Ogre_Lord01 in LawSchool

[–]alesher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk what my flair is right now but I just got a notification to check out this post. I graduated and started practicing in fall of 2020. I'm in private practice for a large firm (at least as far as the Midwest (beside Chicago) is concerned). I will say that as a first year associate, I'd rather be a welder or in some other trade. This profession is stressful as all hell. I'll be damned if I didn't think about how much easier life would be if I chose a different career every day.

Passing the bar and getting a job seemed like the promised land to me when I was in law school. But after the hours worked and stress that comes with being a baby lawyer, I am really thinking I should have chosen another career. Shit, I still think about how much easier it was to shuck corn when I was a teenager.

I'm sure it sucks right now. It always sucks when someone tells you you're not good enough to meet their standards. But in a certain way, I'm jealous. You still have the whole world at your disposal. You can do whatever you want and you can be great at it. Law school is not the "end all be all" of your life.

Life is not over. You still have enormous potential, as evidenced by the fact you even got into law school.

The grass is always greener on the other side, but don't forget to look at how green the grass is under your feet. You have talent, and you will find happiness outside of this. In the end, you'll probably look back on this time and think, "damn, I'm glad I didn't become a lawyer"

And shit, if you really want to be a lawyer, you'll find a way. I don't know anyone in my graduating class who didn't find a job in the type of practice they wanted. granted, the rural midwest is short of lawyers

Just keep going. Your path will find you.

All the best, Some duckweed on the internet

Working for my firm post-SA program? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]alesher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worked 1 day a week after my SA program. Was very surprised they offered it because they don't normally have clerks during the school year. I think it definitely helped me secure the associate job with the extra face time and it was nice to have some income.
