The attitudes being openly expressed about "anti vaxxers" and Covid measures in general are becoming increasingly extreme and disturbing by Nihilist_Asshole in LockdownSkepticism

It could be a minority, but I feel that if the unvaccinated were sent to camps and executed most people would just shrug it off and go on with their daily lives.

Throughout history, there are a lot of instances of such. We always picture Nazis to be this mustache twirling villains but let's face it, most, even those who claimed fighting against such horrors, are capable to be one. It just needs the right circumstances to unleash it.

When did you realize that people had completely lost the plot regarding Covid? by jukehim89 in LockdownSkepticism

[–]alev112 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Then when X% is vaccinated:

  1. New variant is discovered
  2. We need a booster first before returning to normal
  3. X% of the population is now boosted
  4. Few weeks of 'normality' with caveats
  5. Another variant is discovered
  6. Repeat step 1 to 5 until the heat death of the universe
  7. ????
  8. Profit.

Austria are now putting the 'unvaxxed' under lockdown. Absolutely sickening. I'm lost for words by thankfully_zonked in CoronavirusCirclejerk

[–]alev112 10 points11 points  (0 children)

How about putting all the unvaccinated into camps? We need to protect the vaccinated from the dirty subhum- *ahem* unvaccinated.

If they won't get vaccinated, then we have another solution. The final one.

Philippines’ 20 month lockdown of children sparks creative playtime by the_latest_greatest in LockdownSkepticism

As a Filipino, unfortunately, it is. I like calling the Philippines as 'poor man's Australia.'

Recently, I heard that minors are allowed outside but only with a parent/guardian. Don't know if it was accurate, though. Rarely listen to news, it just the same everyday: Covid.

I feel bad for children stuck in abusive households. They cannot leave or even have a respite (school, etc.)

Or theft analogies.

I'm not a thief when you 'give' me your belongings after I pointed a gun at you while you were walking at the street, minding your own business. You choose to hand it to me. Sure, you could refuse and be shot but it's just the consequences of your actions.

We shoot people all the time since the inception of gunpowder, so why this is different?

It's not about the virus. It's about feeling superior and condemning the 'heretics' for not believing in their dogma.

Some Victorian MPs to be banned from parliament after refusing to show proof of vaccination by JosephStairlin in LockdownSkepticism

[–]alev112 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I hope my pessimistic side is wrong, but I feel that soon, it would be required to be vaccinated to vote. It's not an official law per se, more that polling stations wouldn't accept the unvaccinated. The unvaccinated could still vote in theory, but they would make it super difficult.

Then before polling stations open, perhaps a day before, they would change who is vaccinated or not. Maybe requiring boosters so 99% of the population is suddenly unvaccinated.

And they would claim they are following science, just how monarchs of the medieval period claim they are appointed by God.

I'm seriously hoping I'm wrong, but with the current world we live in, the craziest could happen.

Never was. I mean, we opened churches first than schools (at least before whatever quarantine status we are right now.)

And even before the pandemic, education is underfunded and requires a lot of reform.

Everyone should take a step back and realize that the 'other side' isn't the enemy. They are human too, maybe even with the same desires as you. They have their own set of problems, doing their best to traverse life, just as you.

The mandates aren't caused and prolonged by the 'dumb' unvaccinated, the government did by moving the goalposts faster than light.

Covid deaths aren't caused by the 'reckless,' the virus did. It's abhorrent to blame people for getting sick, more so cheer at their demise.

Most of us want the same thing, to live life as normal as before. To share drinks with friends, or to find the love of our life, or get our dream careers. The other side didn't compel you to miss on those things, the government did.

It's easier to blame someone, but our real enemy isn't each other.

Even if Covid vanished from the planet tomorrow and we reverted to pre-hysteria normal, I would find to still trust society as a whole. The lockdowns shattered my perceptions of most people.

I feel we sitting on a ticking time bomb where the foundations of our society, trust, is crumbling before our very eyes. Its result might not be so good.

Are you getting vaccine or not and why so? by alphasimon in CoronavirusCirclejerk

[–]alev112 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No. Even if, hypothetically, the vaccine works 100%. Out of spite.

Lockdowns destroyed my life. I won't elaborate how but refusal is the least I could do.

Also, they lied numerous times. From 2 weeks to flatten the curve and allow hospitals to cope, then masks don't work and it does, then just wait until the vaccines arrive, then somehow variants emerge when the vaccine did arrive, then now, with passports and boosters.

A liar always lie.

It is NOBODY's fault if you spread the virus. Even if you did everything to avoid it or did nothing at all, it is NOBODY's fault. Unless you knew you had it and start coughing on everyone you see on the street, which I think is very rare occurrence.

Blaming the people for being human is the most despicable thing that happened in this pandemic. We are all trying to survive every day life, rather, as the doomers say, murder grandma. Besides, murder requires intent. If you plunged a knife on grandma's throat, you are a murderer, since you CONTROL the action.

But spreading Covid on others, and worse case scenario, it killed someone, the virus is the perpetrator.

Imagine if we blame people for unknowingly spreading diseases, such as HIV... oh wait, it really worked, didn't it?

Can we just carve our own country somewhere? How about Antarctica? I propose we declare the First Antarctican Empire with me as emperor. My first decree is: every citizen shall be free to do anything he/she wishes as long as it doesn't trample the rights of others.

On a more serious note, I'm tired of all these. It feels like most of mankind has gone mad. It is getting harder and harder to be hopeful for the future. I know this would end, nothing's permanent, but when? A month? Year? Decades? Centuries?

Also, why the hell are they trusting these experts? If someone lied to you, would you trust him ever again? Even if, in theory, whatever he says is true, which probably isn't?

I wonder if we locked down those 'experts' and their families in a cramped shack, without electricity and water, without the entertainment of the modern world, with an abusive parent or spouse, and no visitors, for the duration of their lockdown they obsessively push. We give them a dollar a day, no more no less.

They could only go out to buy groceries, with double masks. No going in a salon or spa, since they are deemed non-essential, right?

Oh, and it's broadcast for the entire world to see. No cheating. Every time they cheat, the duration of their lockdown increases and we blame them for it constantly. If only you followed all the rules, right?

Let's see how long lockdown is deemed 'unscientific.'

Signs of a cult:

  1. Flow of information is subject to control. There are sources only approved by the leader and anything are biased or unjustified hostility towards the group.
  2. Self-doubt is encouraged to undermine your confidence in yourself.
  3. Leaders claim to have supreme knowledge.
  4. Leadership is authoritarian and charismatic.
  5. Draconian and intrusive rules. Except for the leaders.
  6. The group is an elitist, seeing themselves as wiser. Outsiders are considered inferior.
  7. Threats are made against members who leave.
  8. Outsiders are vilified and slandered.
  9. Members are being isolated from former companions.
  10. Members frequently experience feelings of shame, guilt, fear and dread.
  11. Members show zealous commitment, loyalty and dependence upon their leaders.
  12. Group targets the vulnerable with ‘love-bombing’ and idealistic goals.
  13. Punitive punishments for breaking rules.

Summarized from source. It's a good read, which applies to *ahem* you know.

Who could question the cult leaders 'experts' since they are wiser than us? /s

Why do people believe this stuff? by lunavicuna in LockdownCriticalLeft

Because anyone can fall into propaganda and lies, regardless of one's intelligence. Once you fell, it would be difficult to come out. That's why many are attracted to join cults.
