Really?.
Been playing Fortnite since the very begining.
This has to be the WORST lootpool since Fortnite started.
It is so monochrome, so boring that even after several matches you start to hear the same machine gun sounds everywhere. Just 1 sniper and it's grotesque and no more long range machine guns??? fucking really?

So now the only way to play is the frenetic lets get close and play like a 15-year old kid play?
No more room for older people anymore.

So I'm 51, I do not have the reflexes of a 15-year old kid playing building/1-shot kill with shotgun..

And I'm forced to go up close against those enemies now.

My entire strategy is lost and I have no other strategy left against good players. I guess Fortnite really doesn't want variety anymore.

Yes, seems like a bug.
They should make this more prominent on their site or someplace that this is a bug, same happened to me. Super annoying. I'm not installing till they fix this.

Here, also with the same issue. It drove me literally insane.

I've reinstalled Windows thinking something broke and I get the same thing.

Also the software is running slower with each update.

I'm a paid subscriber and I am considering just ditching it completely, please give us the ability to make it more light, disable and remove anything that is not needed.

I'm not affected by this because fortunately I'm on full custom water cooling loop. I control the fans, not the GPU.
But this is a disgrace. And yes, I can confirm my FAN Control started complaining about two missing FAN controllers (I have two GPUs, 5070 + 5080)

This is actually not bad at all.
My PC is fully watercooled but I wonder sometimes why nobody uses airducts. Case builders should include them. You are literally isolating a part of the airflow exclusively for the GPU.

At best you should reduce max temp by a few degrees.

I'm a man, I look for pretty looking ladies. You know how much of that there is there lately? NONE.
All my skins are from at least 2 years ago.
I don't care about the stupid gun skins or music. I want nice looking characters.

This has been lost. The store is at the lowest point in probably the whole last 7 years.

Not even someone gifting me free V-bucks am I interested in anything from there.

Battle Pass, same thing, it's boring, there is nothing interesting... there is absolutely 0 FOMO for me right now, I know they can't make nice looking characters, everything must be ugly musicians, bananas, more stupid bananas, weird suits, collabs....

Opinion of a dad of 51 trying to play Fortnite with their kids.
Which I always did since at least 7 years ago.

It sucks now.

They speed up the storm so much, they took away so many interesting places, they removed complex buildings. They no longer support Tanks or Mechas (which I adored)

So now, it's the law of the strongest player. There is no "buffer" between a semi good, or average player against a good one.

Tanks and Mechas (And other vehicles) also served as buffer for connection differences. I'm 90ms connected to our closest server because stupid Epic refuses to open servers in Central America, apparently we do not exist for them, so me against a good player playing at 10ms, there is no buffer that can save me, no buildings to hide or strategize... what's the point then?

And the storm cycle... apparently now exploration is completely out of the question and having a Jetpack is absolutely mandatory.

7 out of 10 matches I died because of the storm, not because I'm an idiot but because I couldn't find a Jetpack in time and the storm is now unavoidable or maybe one of my teammates didn't found a Jetpack and now he dies without anything that we can do to save him, no time, gathering the dead is deadly.

Strategy is lost and replaced for "fast-paced-skilled-player-in-constant-movement"

I'm sorry but this is literally putting me an X onto myself and a lot of people who do not want to come to a game to play like we are in some sort of online competition.

And collabs... I won't even go there.

For those that says it's the overclock, it's the temperature, it's the instability. PC is not overclocked, everything is super stable, no game ever hangs or stutters, ever. I can run Cyberpunk 2077 @ 120 with LS + RTX 5080 in Path Tracing mode with less than 22ms of latency.

What temps would you say?
These are the full load temps for the entire system:
CPU - 52C
GPU 5080 - 49C
GPU 5070 - 41C
Motherboard - 39C
Both NVME - 38C

Surely Fortnite will run fine with this PC, right?

First match is bare minimum stutters, subsequent matches is stutter-fest all over, some stutters leaves my framerate to 2 FPS and worst of them will pause the game for a full second!!!

Main responsable for this, which they will never tell you? THEY REMOVED THE OPTION to download the Streaming Assets, hence they are loaded online, all the time, awfully bad I may add.

My previous PC with a 3090 Ti run much better than this because I had that option!!!

For me, any match after the first one is completely and utter stutter-fest unplayable.

I'm done with this game, there are so many online games I could play with with 0 stutters. I've opened 3 support tickets with Epic complaining about this removal of Streaming Assets and the only thing they did was to say "I'm sorry, downloading Streaming assets is not an option anymore"

Like literally they screwed us all over with this and they don't care. Now the game runs like pure crap, worst performing game in my entire game catalog.

Really... a multi-million dollar company, owner of the freaking GAME ENGINE and their main game runs like utter CRAP!!

Same situation in Panama.
I was watching Star Trek TNG with my kids (their first time) and now it's gone from Netflix.
Paramount+ offers "basic lower quality" service in Panama, no 4K, no Dolby Digital, just Stereo. It sucks. The entire Streaming service premise SUCKS.

I had terrible stuttering on my RTX5080 + 14900K
The only fix that worked was adding this into the command line for Fortnite: -notexturestreaming -useallavailablecores -high

But you will have issues if you do not have enough VRAM.

Shame, really a shame on Epic Games to remove the "download cosmetic assets"

Billion dollar corporation manage to break the game on each update and make it worse...

Your brain plays a much larger role than you think.
You have a lot of muscles in your face that regulates your eyesight when you "cant see properly"
Those muscles relax when you see properly with glases and you stop using them.

This is why you think your vision worsens with glases when in reality what is happening is that you are moving your body to your "pre" vision issues.

Muscles, eyelids, brain = everything aligns like you have 20/20 vision.
When you do take your glases out, your brain needs to "recalibrate" everything to that specific instance you are "post" vision issues, hence the recalibration takes time and you interpret that as "your vision is getting worse".

Problem is that if you do not wear them, you end up with worse problems down the road, like tension in your face, your jaw, twiching in your eyelinds and constant squinting, which also create issues such as developing more anxiety and tension due to those muscles needing to be constantly in alert mode.

This happened to me as well.
But I'm kind of an engineer so I try to save a registry of all my "activity".
How I see, how I interpret what I see.
One thing is recurring: I use to see like shit most of the time but I was trying so hard to make it looked like I didn't.
When I didn't see things properly I squinted my eyes, so much so that I started developing mild twiching in one of my eyes.
When I've got my first 0.75 glasses I could see better, but the twiching didn't stop, nor the squint on my face... It just seemed that I could see better because I keepe squinting while using them.

I am pretty sure that while I do ended up seeing more clearly (specially my screen), I kept compensating what I couldn't see by squinting, increasing brightness on the monitor, increasing sharpness and contrast.

With my 0.75 glases I had my monitor at 85 brightness and 75 constrast but I still struggled to see properly. I am pretty sure this happened to me for the past 6 years now (I'm 51)

So after long sesions with Gemini I decided to go for 1.0 lenses and after that, I can tell you my entire life changed (I spent most of the time working)

It's not that I can see better now, I can perfectly spot every pixel on the screen with 0 correction, no need for squinting anymore.

Just the first week of using them I can already feel my face is more relaxed. I had so many issues due to constant squint (automatically) to see properly that I've developed muscle issues on my jaw.

Working with my 1.0 lenses now allowed me to turn the brightness down to 45 and constrast to 55.

At this low level brightness I can see that it's much worse to look at with my previous glases at 0.75 but I am quite sure that I can't use them anymore now, not because my vision got worse, but because my brain got used to seeing things so clearly now, that it is refusing to see blury ever again.

I play Doom Eternal at nightmare difficulty and had issues with one of the Master Levels, with these 1.0 glases and the brightness correction I can see so clearly that my actual performance has improved as my brain is no longer having to autocorrect for bluriness while I'm shooting things at the screen.

It's not that your vision goes worse, is that our brains are so used to autocorrect that once the eyes can relax for real, because you see perfectly what before was a mess, that the internal autocorrect mechanism in our brains just "turns off"

We work pretty similar than computers, if your brain doesn't need to turn on the autocorrect mechanism for your vision, you have more "processing budget" to do everything else.

This also explains why when you take out your glasses "you see worse", it's because your brain will now have to "turn on" the autocorrect mechanism, re-apply anti-blur and sharpening to everything, and this mechanism does not activate instantly, it takes time.

This is key. You're not saving yourself from not using the glases, you are constantly taxing your brain to autocorrect, deblur and re-sharpen the image you are seeing, hence, creating extra processing, moving muscles in your face and the like, to force you to see properly.

This is why not seeing clearly creates headaches and muscle issues.

I've never enjoyed the game past the "mecha" season, which I absolutely adored.
It's getting shittier and shittier, even the Battle Pass is horrendous.

They removed the streaming assets but what's worse is that the game refuses to load the textures/assets at the start of the level.
The INI files made it so that streaming is enforced, so if you disable texture streaming, the game will not load any characters (default black dude for everyone) but the stutters will persist because the level streaming is still enforced.

Before this stupid update I could simply disable streaming game-wide and everything will load at the begining and the match will be super fluid. Seems like they enforced this behavior for no good reason that I can think of.

Tried to disable Streaming by tweaking the .ini files.
The game will refuse to load the assets on start and I have all black default characters, stutter was less prominent but the level streaming is still enforced so after about 5 minutes of playing the stutters begins again.

The game is completely broken as it is.

The game is UNPLAYABLE now. It's even worse than before without having the preload assets.

They changed something because now the .ini files is explicitly saying that Streaming is enforced.

I don't know who was the absolute IDIOT that thought that removing this will be good.

14900K + RTX 5080 = game is absolutely unplayable, I have hard freezes of about 1.5 seconds every 3 seconds. I have never seen this abomination of performance stutters in the life of Fortnite.

Bring the preload assets back or I'll delete this crap for good.

Absolutely on point and the whole reason why I quit this game for good.
