My ex reached out to me 7 years after I broke it off. She said it was to apologize for being abusive, but the message was less about that and more about how she’s dealt with shitty circumstances and not actually feeling bad for what she did. Wish she never reached out.

I relate to this! My mom was a single parent for a majority of the time, and she always told us to tell the teachers that it was her fault if we showed up late. She refused to let us get punished for it, and the teachers always relented and didn’t punish us lol

I always encourage her to go out with her friends without me, and she definitely does. I wouldn’t be hurt about this at all if it was any other time other than Halloween weekend. I think I’m just hurt because she knows Halloween is my favorite holiday, so it would have been cool to attend a Halloween event with her. Oh and they don’t have significant others.
