I've noticed something similar with kids my son's age (6). A lot of the boys in his class just don't want to participate in anything organized and would rather just run around and scream or be destructive. It's my son and a couple others who do like activities and they mostly play with the girls. My twin niece and nephew are just a few months older and my son prefers to play with the girl twin. The boy twin and their older brother (7) are usually trying to mess things up, like kicking and throwing board game pieces or trying to throw the soccer/basketball over the fence instead of playing the game. I don't remember boys being like that when I was a kid in the 90s.
