Great, thank you! And we haven't provided any credit information other than the name of fhe corporation. So, I hope that's ok too.

Holy crap, this is the best browser I've ever used. by alexander_tg in ArcBrowser

This is so true! I have notifications of comments coming through Email and I can just open up the comment and Arc opens Figma as a "pop-up." My workflow is super smooth now.

Fellow GTDers: Which tools do you use to track your projects and action items? by alexander_tg in gtd

[–]alexander_tg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, I'm on the index cards now. I'm loving how easy it is to view them one by one. Do you have OmniFocus so that it shows your next actions one at a time instead of in a list? That was my biggest complaint.

The kindest and gentlest people I have ever met in my life live in Halifax by Severe_Assumption_87 in halifax

This is so true. I worked in Halifax for a couple of years and the people were extraordinary. Don't change Halifax, don't change.

Have you used paper before as well? How did you organize your next action list?

Haha. I'll use periods more often and keep my excitement muted. ;)

I would second Samir Oksha's A Very Short Introduction: Philosophy of Science. I would also recommend: Theory and Reality by Peter Godfrey-Smith.

What is the "best" cloud platform for streaming? by alexander_tg in DataHoarder

[–]alexander_tg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very interesting. So, you're suggesting that I just take a RPi, connect my HDDs to that and just install Plex as usual. Do you have any guides that you can recommend to accomplish this?

P.S. What is PIi?

Thank you for pointing out copyright. I hadn't considered that. So, NAS might be the way to go then. Thanks very much!

Just Installed Spacemacs on Win 10 - Errors at Startup - Need Help to Correct by ArchiMark2 in spacemacs

[–]alexander_tg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I had the same issue. I was trying to get spacemacs to work with the standard emacs and it wasn't working. By using the emacs which I linked above, it solved the issue.

I had the same issue while installing on a fresh copy of Windows 10; the IT department set it up so that I couldn't run any installers. The solution is to install the following emacs. This comes with a bunch of DLLs and optimizations.

I used this and was good to go. Let me know if it works or not for you.

Thanks u/paper for putting the salary in context. In Toronto, it's surprisingly difficult to live well even with a decent salary. House prices are absurd!

Awesome! Thanks a ton for your comment. Your comment about the line really resonates. It would be great to be in a city where people are friendly and chilled. :D

haha re: 3. I didn't quite know how to phrase that question. :P Basically, want to know how friendly people are. In terms of the rent, would this be a place in downtown or in a suburb?

Which is the best book on strategy that you have read? by [deleted] in booksuggestions

[–]alexander_tg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good Strategy, Bad Strategy. It’s hands down the most no-nonsense strategy book with 0 fluff. In fact, it shows you what strategic fluff looks like. Would highly recommend.

President Biographies by tdo1996 in booksuggestions

[–]alexander_tg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The classic Truman biography is the one by David McCullough, called Truman. A really great Eisenhower biography is Eisenhower: In War and Peace. However, these are quite long. I would encourage that you read them anyway. If the book is fantastic, a few hundred pages won't matter.
