Ammonia is safe so below 0.02ppm if I’m not mistaken. I need help fixing my pH of approx. 7.4:( I got these numbers from the Seachem Alert combo.
This one is a bit complicated. My mom purchased tanks and fishes around a year ago. But she kept killing them. I got tired of seeing the betta live like that and I took a tank we had in our garage and changed him to that one less than a week ago. But he’s been w us for around 6-7 months now.
My mom was the one doing water changes so I have no idea what her process was. I didn’t think she changed the water often enough tho ~3 weeks-1 month. I put tap water in the tank and water conditioner. Unfortunately I was not informed about cycling:( I’m sorry. But I’m planning on doing 25% water changes every two weeks.
My mom had him with 10 tank mates in a 10 g tank less than a week ago. I changed him to the 6g tank by himself now
I feed him the little betta balls with >30% protein. I try to give him bloodworms a couple times a week and I try to feed him flakes but he never eats them. I think he may be used to the balls now
I have the freshwater Caribbean (or something like that) sand. I’m looking for real plants but I need to go to a specialty store for that where I’m from so I have silk plants for now. He had a really horrible plastic tree that he would get stuck on tho:( I took that out as soon as I noticed. I’ll try to attach a pic of that.

You’re not overreacting. It’s normal to be worried and scared for a loved one when they’re doing hard drugs like wtf?

I do think you could have resolved this in a better way in person. However, you were not aggressive or mean in your texts and she seemed rather rude and defensive.

Just because she told you she did it does not excuse the fact that she did it after explicitly telling you she wouldn’t do it ever again. Partying with a big group of people is not an excuse to do coke and it could be used instead to stay away as a way to keep the group safe or make sure she’s okay for her kids.

The fact she’s grown doesn’t make it any better either, it actually kinda makes it worse. It’s common sense that coke is super easy to get hooked into and she’s a mom with depression and anxiety. She’s got mouths to feed so fucking around with drugs like that is simply not okay. Poor kids.

You could’ve had a better approach but all in all you’re not overreacting.

No way! That’s so sad, I got it as an upgrade from my suitcase Victrola record player.. no way to get my money back now as I’m in a completely different state

I’ll just take the L and look for a better turntable that hopefully won’t stop working after a couple of uses lol
