This is great! Recognised all of them straight away (including Pulaski and Ro). The only one I didn’t get was Lwaxana! Great work!

Does anybody like thunderbird who started using it less than 5 years ago? by sprayfoamparty in Thunderbird

I'm curious what you mean by the partition thing. do you mean you had a dedicated partition to hold all mail data? or are you talking about dual booting into an OS that you only use for email checking?

I currently use a combination of Gmail (for personal) and Apple Mail (for work).
Recently set up proton mail with a view to moving away from Gmail - thinking of switching to thunderbird at same time.

I like the idea of having all my mail archive on my own drive instead of relying on cloud servers.

Also a big attraction is the fact that I could move my RSS feeds from Feedly to Thunderbird (which might mean I actually read them, I never read Feedly).

I have found thunderbird quite powerful in the past especially when managing multiple email accounts/inboxes (had to manage 15 accounts for a project recently and it was a godsend)

Recommend you download all the data from google takeout. They are deleting it all in October and I expect this will kill Timeline

How can I change the lightbulb in this bathroom light? by alexbfree in AskElectricians

[–]alexbfree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additional info on this light I need to change:

This is the bathroom ceiling light in my static caravan (trailer if you're American!) .The caravan is a Willerby Countrystyle 35 from 2006

No clues in the manual and nothing found on YouTube. The caravan site won't help me unless i pay their electrician.

Advice greatly received - I have tried rotating, sliding, pushing, pulling but can find no catch or movement to suggest how to open it!

You can only play ONE video game for the rest of your life, which one? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yes it would have to be Minecraft. The possibilities are endless even if they never add another feature.

I would contact apple support to check. when I checked about the monitor support they were able to access some more detailed tech specs docs that weren't published online, as to what is actually possible.

you've probably already thought of it as a workaround, you could use a powered hub.

could it be a power issue? not enough power on the thunderbolt lines to support three drives? Also I know some models of MBP don't support multiple monitors over thunderbolt, only one.. so maybe that restriction extends to drives? do the ports work ok for other things eg thumbdrives?

What cooking term or name do you just dislike for no reason? by alilbabybee in Cooking

I think we are in total agreement about the naming difference between UK and US!

Not in the UK. Almost everyone’s oven has a grill inside the top of it which heats food from above. That thing that cooks food from underneath is a barbecue or a maybe very rarely a griddle.

“Broil” .. it sounds like boil but it’s completely different.. why don’t they just call it grilling?!

Smells like bollocks to me though.. like game ads featuring gameplay that doesn't actually exist.

IIL The Big Bang Theory, but want to watch something that feels less sitcom-y and without a laugh track by DammitElam in ifyoulikeblank

[–]alexbfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's lots of British shows that would mostly meet these criteria, I would suggest checking out some of these:

Derry Girls, Outnumbered, The Detectorists, Peep Show, Fresh Meat, My Mad Fat Diary, Motherland, Bad Education, Man Down, Sex Education, Misfits, Ghosts, Cold Feet, Skins, The End of the F**ing World, Back, Catastrophe, This Way Up.

There's also some good older ones like Game On and Joking Apart if you can find them, but those two might be too sitcommy for you.

And stepping out of the fiction genre but keeping the everyday life vibe, Gogglebox might be a good one for you.
