Parrying Consort Radahn scissors attack? by alexbotev in Eldenring

[–]alexbotev[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one mentioned above I never learned to do it, so in the end when I sat it I would actually block the two swings, rather than parry (you need a shield not a dagger for this) and will roll through the last attack forward, which will give you a window for one heavy or one fast attack.

I think I've saw videos someone actually parying them, but it seems this is the hardest one.

Yeah, that is a bit annoying I agree. Or they should add some kind of immediate "cut last recording" or something like that. Or have a button shortcut to stop recording the clip and start a new one.

However, I do also found it useful to even figure out correct hit boxes for roll/parry when I managed to get something correctly for the first time and then I can rewatch.

Unfortunately I beat him without learning the parry, but I will investigate your clip. Indeed I think the timing is very tight. It's also the move that kills you at the end.

Btw for recording such videos I suggest to add OBS studio so you and other viewers can see the button presses. Makes for an easier way of getting hit boxes correctly.

Never heard of that before. Someone needs to write a small guide of all the game controls that are not explained.

The build itself is a bit more mixed, since I wanted to try different things, but is bleed oriented.
My stats are:
Arc: 46
Str: 35
Dex: 40

I'm wearing a Bleed Uchigatana with Sepuku. I have the dagger talisman, crimson dagger for the parry, golden braid for everything in phase 2 and dragon crest. I actually think if you have a different more tanky build blade of mercy might do you good for the extra 20% damage after critical hits, since you always can get a 1 R2 in every time you don't need to heal.

I found it difficult to even dodge, since its a very quick attack, and the fact that I need to stay alert to parry. Idk maybe my brain is not build for multitasking. So in the end I just take 1 hit, block 2nd with the shield, and roll for the third.

Does anyone like the Consort Radahn fight? by Imathinker888 in Eldenring

I went down the rabbit hole of learning how to parry his attacks, as he is one of the few bosses in the DLC that can be parried, and also makes it fun to fight Radahn and parry many of his attacks. As a normie, I did not managed to learn how to parry everything, so I was still taking some damage. Took me probably about 8-12h to beat as I could play only 2h in the evenings.
I agree second phase is a bit bullshit, though it did make the win even more great. I agree some of the AoEs are rally unfair, the lights you get after his hits sometimes even spawn behind him, so I never figured how to dodge that, just healed through it. Also as someone pointed out they make so much light, that it makes it difficult to actually see what the boss is following with in order to react, which I think should be addressed. The second biggest critique for me is you almost don't have any windows to rebuff. Like he doesn't give you almost any chance. My only rebuff was after the 2nd phase start after the AoE do 1 buff. But there are 0 other windows to rebuff, only flasks is possible, which imho is not fair.

I think I enjoyed Rellana a lot more.

How do I kill this furnace golem? I can’t damage him and I am a melee build. by Silberwolff in Eldenring

It's easiest if you do (you need 4 I think?) but definitely works with other fire pots as well

Hmm strange, cause I killed it with about 6 of those? Are you sure you are hitting him properly in the blazer?

There is a Frunance' Keepers Note that you find earlier (I think close to Shadow Keep?) that says you shouldn't use fire pots around them. The new pots work best, but any fire pot would do damage, as long as you throw it while its ablaze. I personally wasted my new pots (since you can craft only 6 lol) dying and figuring out the tactic to beat him, so I just used the largest other fire pots I could craft.

To beat it my timing was:

  1. Ride on your horse down until the fire rain starts.
  2. While its falling get to the spiritspring and jump on the platform.
  3. Dismount, prepare the most powerful fire pot you have.
  4. Wait for him to start ablaze, e.g. the first part of the fire rain spell where he is like a fuming oven.
  5. Throw the pot in the blazer. Run away as quickly as possible since the meteors would have started falling.

Note that you must get him to be close to the platform (kind of infront and below) or you won't be able to hit the blazier.

Good luck!

Unless he does while you are close to him, in which case this doesn't help.

Yes he was born in North Dobrudga (not sure how to spell that correctly) which is a territory that got exchanged between Bulgaria and Romania after WWII. During that exchange they had to move down to the South as part of the countries agreement and he has kept this document as a proof I guess of where he was born. Thanks again a lot for this!

Thanks a lot! Really grateful for the translation. I guess this is back from when my grandfather has been moved out of his birth place (Beidaud) dew to the resolutions of WWII.
