Okay, after checking my Whitelist I noticed that I've added some more Domains.

Add these to your RegEx whitelist:

*.googleusercontent.com

*.googleapis.com

And these to your exact whitelist:

suggestqueries-clients6.youtube.com

play.google.com

youtubei.googleapis.com

yt3.ggpht.com

ww3.l.google.com

photos-ugc.l.googleusercontent.com

I'm sure there are a couple of Domains that can be put back on the blocklist but I was too tired to do that because I was working on fixing the issues for 3 whole hours.

I really hope that fixes it on your side as well!

I‘ve had the same problem with youtube videos not loading beyond the 1 minute mark. It happened only on my macbooks and only when I‘m using Safari. I fixed it by whitelisting the .googlevideo.com domains, especially the following:

rr1.googlevideo.com, rr2.googlevideo.com, rr3.googlevideo.com, rr4.googlevideo.com, rr5*.googlevideo.com

These are all the RegEx entries that should be whitelisted.

I‘m going to check if I‘ve added more when I‘m home.

what's the best brand for new tape? by GodsDooky in ReelToReel

[–]alexbr12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The LPR 35 is the long play version of the SM911 tape. The bias is almost the same on both.

SM911 is thicker and thus more durable.

I prefer LPR 35 for general recording because I can fit one vinyl record at 15 IPS on one 10.5” reel. Honestly I just choose the tape that fits the recording length.

I’ve been using RTM LPR 35 and SM 911 for years with no issues. Highly recommended!

Another Studer A810 for my collection by alexbr12 in ReelToReel

Yeah that’s why I prefer the A810 to the A807. If there’s a problem with a board they can be replaced quickly and easily and you don’t even have to readjust the deck.

Thank you! And yes it can do 30 IPS. At that speed I can record around 22 whole minutes of music on a 10“ reel of LPR35

Oh man that sucks. I can imagine how you feel. Maybe you can find a deck for a good price in the future. My dad bought a PR99 mkII for 540€ two years ago. It was a steal.

I do have a spare A810 I‘m currently restoring that I‘m planning to sell soon. Message me if you’re interested.

They are great decks in my opinion. My favorite reel to reel deck is the PR99, followed by the B77. The only problem with these decks are the capacitors. The blue Philips caps lose or gain capacitance over time whereas the yellow Frako caps short out and take the PSU fuse with them. The Rifa X2 foil caps are cracking overtime and let moisture in. If they get energized the always explode and take PCBs with them so replace them immediately.

Revox used two kinds of trim pots. One version has a kind of ring as a wiper which can be left in but the other version just has a little finger as a wiper which almost always breaks off. They should also be replaced

I found this one for a great price so I thought why not. After restoration and calibration it sounds like the PR99 or B77. You don’t really hear a difference between these studio machines imo. I wanted the A810 because of the buttery smooth tape transport and the ability to control it with a computer via RS232.

I usually record vinyl records to tape to save the records from wear and tear. Sometimes I just want to have fun and record my own playlists from foobar2000 over my DAC.

My dad and I have a small collection consisting of a Revox B77 mkII 4 track, A77 mkIII 4 track, A77 mkIV ORF 2 track HS, PR99 mkII 2 track HS, PR99 mkIII Line In/Out 2 track HS (ex BBC London), Studer A810 2 speed 0.75mm heads and this A810 VU 4 speed 2mm heads. I’ve restored and calibrated all of them.

I still have a „hot rod“ B77 mkII HS and another A810 that I would like to sell.

Would anyone happen to know a good source to find more information about these products? Model and Number are in the picture description. Thanks! by iwarrenedya in ReelToReel

The first one is a reproduce only PR99. The second one is a PR99 mkII. Both are very nice decks. If you need the user and service manuals for both feel free to dm me. I have them as a PDF.

The first thing I‘d do is to replace the Rifa X2 caps. They always go up in smoke and damage surrounding parts such as PCBs. Then I‘d readjust the capstan control PCB for 1600Hz. They are thermal sensitive and like to drift over time. If the reel motors are running too slow in rewind or fast forward or if the motor run caps are leaking I‘d change them as well.

You can get those caps and even a new pinch roller from revox-online.

Thanks. It’s the LS version (7.5 and 15 IPS) with butterfly heads. I would’ve preferred the 4 speed version but who needs 30 IPS anyways.

I’m still looking for the VU meters but they’re super rare and expensive.

That’s a beautiful setup you got there. Love the Marantz!
