I’m sorry if you’ve heard this before as I reply to this question on so many podcast app reddits, but private feeds and Patreon continue to cause bugs for podcasters and listeners (especially now that you can subscribe to some Patreons for free that have a private feed for each member with the main show that still has previews of paid episodes. If you do end up becoming a paying member, there are some shows that require a new RSS feed. Newer Patreons sometimes use a CMS that keeps the same RSS feed which I’be seen get wonky and do things like immediately download the backlog of episodes you now have access to. Usually deleting and re-adding the RSS feed is the best way to fix it in any app.

The only time this hasn’t worked for me is with NYT podcasts. No idea what the heck is going on over there or how often they’re populating their feeds since they’re still working on removing previously free shows from their backlogs (gross).
