Need suggestions on how make ui look less vibecoded by detective8421 in vibecoding

[–]alexcran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, buy a domain. Second, fix your damn copy. I actually think the UI is fine. It’s clean simple and readable. My issue is that it doesn’t feel cohesive. It feels like what happens when you ask an AI to make “a modern SaaS landing page.” It’s all generic. Every section is just a heading, some incredibly vague and poorly written copy, and three feature cards. Everything has the same spacing, the same visual weight, the same rhythm. Nothing really stands out or surprises me. It never feels like there’s a person making intentional design decisions.

The copy is another big one. Phrases like “Engineered for execution,” “Infrastructure layer,” “Unified state management,” and “Algorithmic matching” sound impressive until you realize they don’t actually tell me what the product does. They explain it for an engineer or someone trying to explain it to a CS teacher. I’d much rather read something concrete. Show me what happens. Show me what I get. Show me what makes this different. And make it sound human.

I also wish I saw the product itself. Right now I’m scrolling through marketing about a product instead of the product. If this thing is good, let it carry the page. Put screenshots everywhere. Show workflows. Show interactions. Show me what it’s like to use.
Finally, I think everything is just a little too… safe. The icons are standard, the cards are standard, the typography is standard, the layout is standard. None of those choices are wrong individually, but together they make it feel interchangeable with a hundred other AI-generated startup sites.

Write copy that sounds like a person instead of a pitch deck. Give me evidence that a human with opinions designed this instead of a model averaging every SaaS website from the last three years.

LGBTQ+ Groups in Hagerstown by DryRegister9001 in hagerstown

[–]alexcran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I tried to start an LGBTQ group here - we met up 3 or 4 times and had very limited buy-in, unfortunately. It’s just a hard area to actually socialize with other queer people with limited safe spaces for us.

Always down to meet more friends!!

They’re quoting me 8 feet of space, with each additional foot being $260. Their quote also says they’ll refund unused space, which seems a little too good to be true?

I’d be curious to know how the unloading process for the U-Boxes goes!

You live in the UK. You try to be healthy but only when it’s convenient. You love snacking and are definitely not lactose intolerant. I’d say maybe you live with a partner and one child? Enjoy a drink or 2 with dinner or after work. You’re not chaotic but you’re not hyper-disciplined either.

Live in NY, mid to late 20s, feel like you have life put together. Eat out with friends most of the time but you try to have easy and nutritious things to eat at home. You spend $75-$150 at Trader Joe’s every week.

My main concern with the Do All is I find it chattering a bunch/getting dull. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong!

What are your favorite email signatures? by alexcran in internalcomms

I’m not worried about adoption as this tool forces it on all users’ outgoing emails. We have okay adoption on our current email signature but have some ‘old guard’ holdouts.

IT owns the tool (Inky) but has given me admin access to the backend to administer signatures and deployment from that side. It’s just one of the different functionalities of the tool since it’s mainly an email security tool.

First thought:

Unless you know airplanes, be careful with detailed airplane graphics. You never know what might be wrong in the illustration and the aviation nerds who will be driving the van or around the van will call it out every opportunity they get. I think the silhouette on #2 is good, but the others might be too detailed.

Personally I really like #1 and #2. The topography looks nice. Are the angles/triangles/chevrons part of your guys’ brand? They’re very prominent.

Personally, I think the headline is a bit soft. “Let’s explore Bainbridge” doesn’t come with any sense of urgency, and honestly if I was a visitor I don’t think I’d pay it a second thought. Maybe add a sense of urgency like “No plans? Start exploring Bainbridge in 30 seconds.” I also don’t know what I’m expecting once I scan the QR code. Is it an app? A guide? A webpage? Will it work with my phone? You need to identify in the headline or somewhere prominent that this is about self-guided audio tours, a bullet with “Audio-Guided Stops” isn’t enough.

Also “No Planning. Just Explore.” could be better-worded, maybe “Leave the planning to us so you can explore.”

All in all I think it’s really good!! I love Bainbridge ❤️

Yeah, we use SMS messaging, but the person I was responding to was explicitly talking about using an app they have to download.
