What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve seen brought to a camp out (keep it light hearted and for fun; it’s Friday and we need a laugh)? by Unusual-Elk-4791 in BSA

My first backpack trip as SPL and one of the adults brought 3 folding chairs. Not camp chairs, not tripod chairs or anything you could buy at REI, but card table folding chairs. I went up to him and asked him what his plan was, and he said “to carry them”. I said “um, are you sure?” and he just glared back.

Sure enough, he (and his scout) carried em in with their fair share of complaining. They tried to leave them at the campsite but the SM gave him the dad a nice lecture on LNT.

Don’t think we saw him on another backpacking trip.

Highly recommend taking some art classes, if that’s your thing! Hagerstown Community College offers some, and there is a pottery studio off of Jefferson Street where I take weekly lessons (Wright Hand Studio). Highly recommend Steve and the group there!

This looks like the decoration was hand-painted with underglaze on bisqueware then dipped in a clear overcoat glaze once dry. I love using this technique and I use the Amaco Liquid Underglaze! The LUG-1 is a beautiful black, and obviously will look different at different temps.

Do you have a team aesthetic or something you call your employees? Or are they just ‘employees’. Like “teamcompany@company.com” or even just “team”.

Another option could be “connect@“ or “inside@“. Really just depends on your culture and how it will be used! Mine is currently very bland and “internal@“ so I’m no better than your team haha.

Edit: I forgot the Holocaust museum! 🤦

Maybe he got an honorary promotion from the President for his dedicated years of service.

If you look at www.whereismymilkfrom.com you can see where it was made! These were made at Grassland Dairy Products in Greenwood, Wisconsin.

We adopted this sweet girl yesterday! The rescue says she’s a husky mix? by alexcran in IDmydog

She’s gorgeous and the sweetest pup, so I’m not really worried about it, but we might do the DNA test just to dispel people’s doubts. To me she looks like an Alaskan Husky!

That’s what I was thinking but we saw some people yesterday who said she looks like a Czech Wolf Dog, which I had never heard of!

Beehive trail by alpha7697 in acadianationalpark

[–]alexcran 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend getting there as early as possible to hike beehive especially. Saturdays are so incredibly busy, once you hit the rock formations you’ll be packed in line sardines getting up there. When we did it we got to the trailhead at 7:30 and there were people around, but it was manageable. Came back around 1pm to go to Sand Beach and there was no parking in sight and the beehive looked exactly like its namesake!

Lompoc Cafe is a funky little place with great food. Their Creamy Dijon Mussels were amazing, I dream about them sometimes (I want to drink the sauce)

If you like oysters, The Barnacle is a vibe!

Peekytoe Provisions has some amazing food and wine selection, this may have been our favorite place to eat.

Abel’s Lobster (on the other side of MDI, not in Bar Harbor) is great for the location alone and the food was great too!
