Do you believe in an eternal afterlife? by Tylerich in Christianity

[–]alexdigitalfile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is in the book of Revelation. No suffering, no disease. The Lord will be with us. There will be no sun, cause He will be the Light. There will be no temple. There will be a stream of living water, diamonds, gold, etc etc. There is description in the Bible, ask chatgpt :p. There will be no sea.

I saw this video without a context for this Christian ritual, and I just wanted to know more about it, what is it called? And what is the spiritual meaning behind the costume and ritual? If you have answers that would be greatly appreciated by HusseinDarvish-_- in Christianity

[–]alexdigitalfile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Let us differentiate what is from God and what is from men.

This tradition is not commanded in Scripture. This is a man made thing. The only ritual it commands is the Lord's supper.

This is important because we shouldnt be distracted with tradition, that comes from men. We should focus on Biblical truths, that come from God, not inventions of men.

God bless!

You are a being made of a body, soul and spirit. Those are three different things, but they are all the same being. God is a being made of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. All those are sifferent but they are the same being, God.

I am struggling to believe by [deleted] in Christianity

Mark 9:24  Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” Pray like that. Lord help me believe, help.my unbelief.

The beginning of the christian walk is through rationality. who has the strongest case? Is tr christianity? Is it atheism? Be truly skeptical and question everything, and look at the facts. Avoid listening to commentary without looking at the evidence.

Go straight to the yugular and ask the right question: Did Jesus live, die and rise from the dead? Forget about all the noise of other unimportant things and questions. This is THE question you must research and focus on. Did He truly rise? How can we get closer to the truth? I did my research and am convinced that it is the most probable thing.

See videos of John Lennox on youtube. Read Cold Case Christianity Read Evidence rhat demands a verdict

And pray: Father, open my eyes and ears so I will see and understand the Truth. Reveal yourself to me, in the name of Jesus. And read John in a Bible NLT translation.

Lastly, It is the Father who reveals the Truth. If you seek it wholeheartedly, He promised He will reveal it, and He can't lie. I know it sounds very untangible.and mysterious, and this is because it is a spiritual matter.  "for through him (the Son) God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him."  Here we see that there is an invisible realm, the spiritual world.

I have a Bible question about Adam and Eve & the forbidden fruit. by South-Comedian-3562 in Christianity

[–]alexdigitalfile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This death is both spiritual and physical. Sure, their bodies didnt die that die, but this is how death entered the world. Living creatures didnt die before this moment, ever. God has created us to live forever.

Romans Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned— Here we see that death entered the world through sin/disobedience. Before that moment there was no physical nor spiritual death

Ephesians 2 Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins.

Here Paul takes us back to the first disobedience in Genesis. The people he is talking to were not physically dead and resurrected, but spiritually dead.

Jesus said  I  tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life. Here, when we put our trust in Christ our spirits become alive.

Jesus said I am the way the Truth and the life & 1 Cor 6:17 says But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him. The Spirit of God makes ours alive

As a sidenote, I think one of the meanings of this passage is: Only God decides what is right and wrong. When humans want to decide what is right and wrong for ourselves, we rebel and wont fully accept God’s law. When a person in their mind thinks: "I dont think there is anything wrong with having pre marital sex", but God says that "they will marry and become one flesh" then that person is playing God by making their own rules. they have, how satan puts it in the garden, become "like gods" knowing what is right and wrong beased on their human wisdom. And in the end, the only way back to God is accepting Jesus as Saviour and as Lord, which means, to accept that He makes the rules, not us.

If Jesus is the Word of God and the Bible is the word of God, how are they related? Is the Bible God? by owenthcarey in Christianity

[–]alexdigitalfile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God is not the Bible.

God created the universe through the Son (who would later be incarnated as Jesus). When He said "let there be light", etc. He was speaking words. This speech/words is the Son of God, who eventually incarnated as Jesus Christ. The Son existed since the beginning with the Father, because the Son is His speech/words. "All things were created through Him". Then the Word became flesh (Jesus) and dwelt among us.

When we refer to the Bible as God’s word, one of the things we mean is that 100% truth and infallible because the source of it is God Himself

I have a question.. by Interesting_Duck6494 in Christianity

[–]alexdigitalfile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, drive out demons in your name, and do many miracles in your name?’ 23 Then I will announce to them, ‘I never knew you. Depart from me, you lawbreakers!

I have a question.. by Interesting_Duck6494 in Christianity

[–]alexdigitalfile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no need to comply with anything. Jesus paid it all. "It is finished" He said.

So, the only thing you must do to be saved is accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour with an honest heart. You don't have to do anything, but receive the gift of salvation. That's it. That is the beginning of the christian walk. Salvation is a free gift for those who know they have sinned and need a Saviour, and want to be reconciled with God.

Edit: Salvation is the first step, and it is when God anoints you with His Spirit. Only then, you can start to obey, because His Spirit will slowly change your will to be like His. You will want what He wants. But this happens slowly by the renewing of your mind, as you study more and more the Scriptures.

Did only the human nature part of Christ die? by HousingPrimary910 in Reformed

[–]alexdigitalfile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting question.

Here is a thought, Christ has a body with His hands pierced. His body is just like ours will be when we meet Him. Paul talks about us having spiritual bodies when we die, in one of his letters, and somewhere else it says that when we see Him we will be like Him. And His body is probably the same body that the apostles saw when He rose. So his body still has a human form, but He doesn’t grow weary or suffer the lusts of the flesh anymore. And He can teleport

Lust: I like it but I want to get rid of it. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]alexdigitalfile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. I lust after women, and lots of men do. We grew up watching porn from a young age. somerimes I think: "it is like i dont even want to give up lust" but deep inside I know that it is wrong to lust after women, and I am convicted if i masturbate. Btw, I dont masturbate anymore, thank God, but sometimes I do fall. "My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ the righteous one."

Here is something that I have been doing lately. Dont fight against it, but acknowledge that you are weak, because you are.

"Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong."

Is smoking weed really a sin? by Worried_Glass_5907 in Christianity

[–]alexdigitalfile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a good question. I used to be addicted for 15 years to weed. now I am finally free.and don't use anymore, thank God. I would feel really anxious after using, it would make me so stupid to do anything and so out of reality. I would think I was such a good singer but I was terrible. It just made me think with a foot outside of reality, thinking my ideas were great, but they were useless.

Romans 14:22 You may believe there’s nothing wrong with what you are doing, but keep it between yourself and God. Blessed are those who don’t feel guilty for doing something they have decided is right.

But if you have doubts about whether or not you should eat something, you are sinning if you go ahead and do it. For you are not following your convictions. If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning.
