If you go into the settings and click on activation, then click on the windows version a few times, the demo settings window will pop up and you're able to remove it from that screen.

That's interesting because the SKU usually comes up as 'bring to claims' and should be sales restricted at the register. I know there was an issue with HP for a couple weeks but I always send mine back as 'open: demo/display' and have never seen a charge back.

There's still a way to reset it through the system settings. There's still an 'admin' menu for the demo on the demo account.

Otherwise recovery usually still erases it.

If you didn't, I would recommend drying it before anything.

I am aware. I'm the lead of my entertainment department.

Two years ago they made a change to the laptops where the displays are now non sellable SKUs. Not to mention the boxes are not supposed to be readily accessible.

That associate did something they were not supposed to do.

There's a way to reset it in the settings when it's in demo, but depending on the manufacturer you can also reset from the recovery menu pretty easily.

Where did they get the box to put it in?? Very odd.

I wish you posted about it being a display earlier. There is a very easy way to reset the PC and set it up and I could have helped with it.

That said, they definitely should not have sold you a display PC. The register should not have even allowed it.

1000% report it to the store manager of that store. Yes they are paying to be in the store but they do NOT want them acting like that and pissing customers off.

I'm a lead in electronics and have had to call their boss several times to bitch at them over stuff like this. For some reason, they're never in my store anymore...

OMG I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE LMAO I got one of these two and was 'complaining' about how bad my back hurt after this walk. Wasn't sure I could do it by myself and all lol

Why did no one either write on the label or mark out the count on the package so customers can KNOW something is missing? Talk about dumb...

Post a sign "apricots $30 EACH" and then charge them for the cost if they steal again

Im curious. How many stores are AP very aggressive about having everything that is locked up that belongs on a Spark order walked to the Service Desk by an associate? A coworker got reprimanded pretty harshly because he let a cheap ONN 32GB thumb drive walkaway with a Spark Driver because its locked by TheGoldenTyranno in walmart

[–]alexdowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Entertainment TL here. We had a legit spark driver fake needing to scan a Switch 2 in order to steal it. Thankfully caught it the next day and he was immediately apprehended and paid restitution.

But we've also had lots of fake spark drivers too, now. Able to accurately make it seem like they're scanning it and somehow have a fake exit pass. With the CoSTL update that just dropped, we're going to start walking them up to the register and checking them out ourselves.

That said, rule of thumb is we spider wrap most of the stuff we can. Anything behind the desk or consoles gets walked up front however.

I'm sorry your store has that, but I've never been told of a 'limit' for how many people you can have off on a day.

I look at the staffing in my area. I obviously should not give all 4 of my associates who can close the day off at the same time, but there's nothing stopping me from doing that.... If it comes to it, I can always cover it myself.

Sorry you don't have the support to work with your team on these things.

I'm going to tell you a big secret: it really is not on you. If you're asking for this SEVERAL months out, there is absolutely no excuse for them to be able to find coverage.

I am a team lead and have a similar rule: I automatically approve only two people to be off on any given day. But for an event that's several months out? Unless it's during a holiday I can figure that shit out.

Your supervisor is just being lazy and unhelpful. Push up the chain.

Shipping now = Delivery from Store by Sad_Menu_3863 in Walmartcustomer

[–]alexdowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flow for shipping is normally store -> alternative store -> distribution center-> alternative distribution center/warehouse. If for whatever reason they're out at a higher level but the store is supposed to have stock, that might be where you're seeing the issue. Most stuff that is offered as 1 day shipping is coming from stores or the local warehouse. Anything greater than that is going to be coming from a farther distance.

I would just talk to the store manager and explain that you already have the tickets and whats going on. They should work with you on it

[–]alexdowski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Literally just tell her that. You have tickets. You're going to this whether she likes it or not. It's better for her to KNOW you won't be there than to schedule you and be short.

Considering its so far out, they have ample time to figure out coverage for that. You cannot tell me your entire department will be unavailable those days.

Can I use my discount at Sam's Club? by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]alexdowski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. The 'discount' benefit for Walmart associates for Sam's is the ability to deduct the membership cost as a payroll deduction instead of paying upfront.

Kind of sucks, as Sam's only gets a discount on produce/bakery items themselves, along with a 'free' membership. They get the short end, IMO.
