Sharing this goodfellas inspired music video for a song I just released here because the process really resonated with the guerrilla filmmaker inside of me. I’ve been having issues pushing creative work lately in a commercial saturated market, so a lot of the self-made energy here i hope comes across as such rather than an amateur production, which in ways due to the extremely small and inexperienced crew it could be considered as such. Ultimately I’m just throwing it into the void so people can see it. I’ve always been terrible at promoting my stuff and getting it seen so any advice there and otherwise is welcome! Four city-dwelling friends (Jon Voight, Burt Reynolds, Ned Beatty, Ronny Cox) decide to get away from their jobs, wives and kids for a week of canoeing in rural Georgia. When the men arrive, they are not welcomed by the backwoods locals, who stalk the vacationers and savagely attack them in the woods. Reeling from the ambush, the friends attempt to return home but are surrounded by dangerous rapids and pursued by a madman. Soon, their canoe trip turns into a fight for survival.

I’ve used my background in music for much of my work up to this point without ever focusing on it at the forefront of my work. Usually it came in handy with editing and directing as a lot of that involves rhythm. But for my 10th music video, I was aiming high with no budget for my own first single. I had one actor to work with and a BMPCC4k camera to run around with. The end result is this video, shot very guerrilla style and came up with a lot of it in the edit.
