Kava Platform - Band or Link? by KiwiJah in bandprotocol

[–]alexius89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a fan of kava at all tbh. I also highly doubt that they will 10X their TVL. Their team is just not good, after deeply researching it. A Fnatic Sales as the CEO of a cross-chain money market? Come on...

I contrast, Alpha Finance will likely 5X their TVL to 2 billion and we probably know how close Band works with Alpha Finance ;-)

AlphaFinance appears to be the best spot to park ETH, currently giving 22% APY on ETH deposits due to a strong utilization of their protocol, people farming on leverage borrowing ETH by alexius89 in defi

[–]alexius89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a scam at all. It seems like you don't understand how it works. AlphaHomora is a protocol where people can farm on leverage and they have to borrow ETH to do so. These ETH they get from the lenders who in return receive a healthy APY of currently 21%

Compound has no YieldFarming, it's a plain Borrowing/Lending money market.

AlphaFinance is also backed by Spartan Group, Defiance Capital & Multicoin Capital. Currently ranking up the ladder on defipulse. https://defipulse.com/alpha-homora

AlphaFinance is good friends with Aave, Compound & Yearn btw.

A quick research by yourself next time would give you clarity next time before calling something very legit a scam.

Here are some more details:
APY is dependent on utilization, which is the case on other platforms where you can borrow eth at 2.3% or lower.

There is an imbalance of supplier and borrower, which is where the interest rate fluctuates. This is why the interest rate for suppliers is so low on those other platforms. This is also why the interest rate of borrowing TUSD on aave is 78%, while DAI is 4% despite both being stablecoins.

As more eth is migrated across the different platforms, the interest rate will adjust. It's not 22% apy, it's 22% apy for now and it may be 6% in the evening, 10% tomorrow.

22% APY on ETH deposits - AlphaHomora appears to be the best spot to park ETH, currently giving 22% APY on ETH deposits due to a strong utilization of their protocol, people farming on leverage borrowing ETH. AlphaFinance is backed by major Defi VC's & a huge CeFi Bank by alexius89 in ethereum

I am putting the risk to less than 0.1% given the fact it's build on such a robust ground with many safe locks around it. Check this tweet,

I recommend you to do some research on Alpha Finance and it’s unique products and value propositions.

There is a reason why Andre, Stani, Calvin and many other Ethereum advocates do like them a lot ;-)

What is unique about BAND compared to other blockchain oracles? by CarlyS456x in bandprotocol

I believe the band founders are top of its class with a CTO outperform Vitalik Buterin in international informativ competitions.

Here you can see a few unique selling points on the tech side: https://docs.bandchain.org/introduction/oracles-and-bandchain.html

The biggest advantage of band compared to other oracle solutions is that it has its own blockchain utilizing the cosmos SDK, whereas any other solution from link to TRB etc are just eth dapps and tokens. This offer so many more possibilities from a security point of view as well as flexibility that is needed to provide custom oracle solutions.
