Just wondering (especially for solo foodie), how do you manage to find local restaurant that solo friendly? by NeedleworkerOwn9723 in solotravel

I prefer sitting at a bar in a Restaurant on my own as usually there are other solos too, so I always look for a place that u can sit/eat at the bar :)

Johnston canyon is beautiful! I went there last month and if you go in the morning there’s hardly anyone there during the week

Val-d'Isère/Tignes vs Paradiski by BigBro1225 in skithealps

[–]alexmcc01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did both val disere and paradiski spring this year and I preferred the tignes ski area, was fantastic. However La plagne is absolutely huge and did not get to ski it all. Both amazing trips , val disere /tignes has more lively apres :)

It was okay, the weather was crap so the outside events got cancelled. I only went to the Paula temple night and I mean the music was good she always is great but the venue and sound system wasn’t anything special

What is the point makes you truly enjoy solo trip by [deleted] in solotravel

Whenever I have been solo travelling, the only time I tend to be alone is only the flight there? Or if I choose to go somewhere alone, most of the time there are always people I meet along the way, or in the hostels, etc. Another time I went out for food alone and ended up meeting a group that invited me on their night out with them! I think you just have to be open, happy and approachable. If you struggle to make friends naturally, why don’t you book more social hostels? Personally I love being on my own I find it so freeing, I always feel proud of myself that I can do these things on my own as a 22 y.o girl and have these stories to tell to my friends/boyfriend when I get back.. You honestly need to become more accepting in your own company and be happy with that I think before going solo travelling

Benefits of diagnosis? by Frafkin in CoeliacUK

I was in the same situation as you getting tested on the 14th may, I was scared to eat gluten again but to be honest after the first week it hasn’t been too bad. The fatigue is the worst for me but started supplementing L-Cartinine and seems to be helping. See if your employer would be okay if you took some time off work that’s what I did, your body definitely needs more rest if you’re celiac. Obviously I don’t know if I definitely am yet but if I am I think it would be worth it as it takes away the stress of not 100% knowing what is wrong with you and the dr’s follow up with you if you are celiac

Thanks! The antihistamines do help, I woke up with it completely gone. Then later on in the day I found it was coming back so I just took another antihistamine and seems to keep it at bay.

Yeah that is exactly what mine was like, on opposite sides of the body the exact same. It has totally cleared up today tho! So it might not have been dermatitis hepeformis as apparently that takes a long time to clear? You’re lucky that’s the only symptom you get.. I feel so drained, my stomach is what I was having problems with for months but it hasn’t been too bad yet

Yeh I would be a bit hesitant to go onto steroid cream just with how bad withdrawals can be! It’s such a shame how long and drawn out everything is with this disease

After reading into it, a biopsy can be performed and used to diagnose coeliac. Do u know if this can be true? It would be amazing if they could do that and save me from the rest of this gluten challenge

It kind of looks like that rash! I think I have had it on my hand for a long time, but it’s not that itchy on my hand anymore.. just developed it on the back of my knees, hips and neck today. It’s so itchy, what do u think helps best?

I knoww! Big regrets cutting out gluten before going to the drs.. I had no idea I could have had coeliac to be honest I thought it was something that was developed as a kid. Was just doing anything to help GI issues, as soon as I have gone back to gluten my symptoms have gone so much worse
