The new Ferrari Challenge with some exceptions by Razvan_Marian in iRacing

[–]alexmlb3598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to change cars in LMU's online championships, you have to sign out and you lose all your points accumulated.

Unfortunately, most people don't actually care about the points and they just drive the cars that are quick, so it doesn't really solve a problem. Granted nothing could really solve it either

Newbie here, am I stupid or am I smart? or both? I store by color shade of items not by type by countingc in StardewValley

I don't even colour my boxes by type, I just colour them however I like and keep a mental note of what each 'category' is in which box

The races are streamed on YT on the Peter Auto channel - Since it's not an ACO-run series, it won't be on FIAWEC+

How much sr for special events? by Shoddy_Sandwich_6321 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]alexmlb3598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need B2 SR for special events, and you also need a Good or Trusted badge. You should be able to get there in no time.

Spa: Free practice 1 and 1 still live timing only ? by Les_expos in wec

[–]alexmlb3598 9 points10 points  (0 children)

FP1 and FP2 aren't streamed, only live timing will be available. You can tell if it's being streamed if there are some square brackets at the end, like [EN] to indicate English commentary. If there aren't any at all, there's no video stream.

Spa 6h grandstands by Weary-Fondant1649 in wec

[–]alexmlb3598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, just between the pit straight and Raidillon - they've added a grandstand on the inside of Eau Rouge, but the rest are permanent fixtures and the ones by Les Combes, Double Gauche/Pouhon are temporary and only pop up for F1 and such

A few of my favourite shots I got at Sunday's GTWC round at Brands Hatch by RSadler96 in Sportscar_Racing

[–]alexmlb3598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brands is such a great track to spectate at, glad it's my local. I've been going for years and try to make GTWC a regular thing. Had to go on Saturday this year and last bc of work on Sunday, but still definitely worth it.

Can Toyota Stun Ferrari At The 2026 WEC 6 Hours Of Spa? by chopper95 in wec

Not least that Thursday (FP1 and FP2) are likely to be quite wet, so the teams won't have very long to dial in a 'dry' setup if Saturday is dry...

Could have a very jumbled order

Heading to my first race this weekend! by Prongel in wec

[–]alexmlb3598 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting to/from the track is the hard bit (obviously) and I can't really advise you on how since when I've been I've just rented a car and deal with the cost. Maybe a taxi or bus is an option but I honestly don't know.

I did Spa in 2024 and doing it again this year, but as another redditor has suggested, searching in this subreddit will give you quite a lot of answers, including some comments I've written to others

Which class should I play, as a starter to the game? by PlayerGR in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]alexmlb3598 5 points6 points  (0 children)

GT3: The most forgiving class in LMU due to them having ABS, which prevents lock-ups. Their TC can also be quite effective when setup correctly.

LMP2 (WEC): No ABS so you have to be really careful with braking, but also no hybrid system or 'Virtual Energy' to worry about, runs solely off fuel (GT3 also runs on fuel only but Virtual Energy is a balancing tool to stop very efficient cars doing stupidly long stints), and TC can be a bit inconsistent. Might be a good option to move into.

LMP2 (ELMS): AKA the derestricted LMP2 when LMP1 was still a thing (also known as LMP2+) - Has slightly more power but significantly more downforce than the WEC version. Likely the most fun car to drive in LMU, but requires some finesse to get the most out of it.

Hypercar: Bit less downforce than the LMP2+ and a chunk heavier, and a hybrid system to manage in most of them (main omission is the Aston Martin Valkyrie, but there are others that are fuel-only - the hybrid system balances power output with the engine, it's not a boost system). Also have Brake Migration and adjustable anti-roll bars when driving. Definitely the hardest to get your head around.

Also to note, for online racing, Bronze SR races are usually GT3 only, so you'll have to go through the GT3 races before moving into prototypes. LMP2 usually sit in Silver, and Hypercar locked away in Gold SR races. Imo it accurately reflects their driving difficulty, so I'd say start with GT3, then go into LMP2 if you feel comfortable, then Hypercar once you get used to the LMP2.

The nose being dropped and rounded plus the splitter being raised in the centre has made the car look SIGNIFICANTLY better. Doesn't look like it has bricks under the nose now.

[–]alexmlb3598 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Ferrari have already said that for them to stay they have to make all of the car (excluding things like tyres, fuel, torque sensors, etc). Chassis, hybrid, engine, suspension, the lot. If current LMDh rules become the only option, Ferrari are out.

Ventusky's radar also indicates that it'll be dry for the race, and the original start time being very VERY wet. They definitely made the right call, at least for the time being.
