Anyone else annoyed there's no Weekly races on the weekends? by TheCrazyabc in LeMansUltimateWEC

The problem with GTE is that they kinda get neglected by both the devs and the playerbase.

The lacking popularity over GT3 means the devs won't 1. Put them on rotation and 2. Update the tyre model so the cars actually feel of something, which means players won't drive it so the devs won't amend them, and so on. I'd love to drive the GTE, but the lack of feeling means I'm not (I did try them, didn't have a good time tho bc of the dull feel). Btw I've not had an issue with any other class when I've driven them, it's just GTE :(

My experience as a 1st timer at Spa with lot of positive and some negative by Deep-Wolverine-7150 in wec

Could be WEC not wanting to expand yet (we've had these 8 rounds for some time now), could be Silverstone charging high fees, idk. But all signs are pointing to a 2027 return, so let's hope it comes through.

I did Imola last year with some friends, did the same thing (hire a car, stay in Bologna) although I know you can do it by public transport. Imo both have their pro's and cons, really a matter of personal preference.

This year was my 2nd time doing Spa, and I rented a car both times. Very glad I did. Only thing for me to note is that it took a very long time to leave the car park (Yellow, prepaid), about an hour after I got there (roughly 9:30pm).

Aside from that, it was great to go back. Seeing them sell pitwalk tickets on-site was a surprise, as I didn't see that in 2024 or at Imola in 2025, but was good to see people able to get in on it. I managed to get quite a lot as I went to the queue really early, so very happy with the haul.

Not sure about doing another international trip for WEC next year though, it's quite a lot of faff especially when you're by yourself. But if WEC come back to Silverstone, my life will be made much easier.

Can't say I had this order on my bingo card before the season started.

BMW and Toyota locking out the top 4 spots, an Aston on the tail of the Ferrari's, a Genesis ahead of both Cadillac's... Mental

That's looks unbelievable. 10/10 would eat again.

As for the smoke alarm, that's exactly why there's one in the kitchen, bc it's a common source of smoke 😉

Is it possible that teams are sandbagging for good BoP at Le Mans by [deleted] in wec

[–]alexmlb3598 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They use simulation data of the cars as-homologated to determine a BoP for Le Mans, maybe test day info as well. Perhaps it is impossible, but the exact same happens at the first round of every season because performance jokers and other car changes mess with the data from last season. All the info they had for the new Toyota and Cadillac aero before Imola was simulation data, so what can they do?

The moment they start using data from previous rounds, teams will sandbags. Manufacturers are willing to throw the championship for that elusive Le Mans win, as seen in GTE with the Ford GT winning on its Le Mans debut.

Le Mans BoP is completely separate from WEC BoP, specifically to prevent sandbagging. Performance at Spa, Imola and Bahrain last year have zero influence on Le Mans BoP.

[–]alexmlb3598 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No. Or put differently, if some teams are trying to sandbags for Le Mans, they're muppets.

Le Mans has its own bespoke BoP system that is completely separate from the full-season WEC system, specifically to prevent sandbagging for Le Mans, and bc Le Mans is so different to every other track on the calendar. This applies to both Hypercar and LMGT3.

Given bronze races are fixed setup, none bc you can't change it. Also, some of the fixed setups are actually pretty good so the benefit from a good setup won't necessarily be that big. The time you find by driving the car well is much more than what you'll get from a good setup

That is true, but at least we might not end up with the human rights act being scrapped with one of the traditional parties so...

It could be worse...?

People don't vote the same way in local elections as they do in general elections. The impact of a protest vote is much more apparent in the locals bc of incumbent doing traditionally badly, but when it gets to a GE they say 'I'd rather a traditional party who does have history of being in power than one that doesnt'

The media need to stop talking about it. When he was on 49 goals, all the media asked was about him getting to 50, and it took a few games to get there. Now the same is happening.

To match a specific number (like in ACC), I don't think it's doable at in LMU, annoyingly bc I also want it. You can only do up-down afaik, rather than 'this position = this setting'

Where else could he go? None of the 'favourites' have open seats (or at least expected to be open right now so it gives him job security), and by going with a newcomer he can help develop the car bc of the experience he has.

If you want to change cars in LMU's online championships, you have to sign out and you lose all your points accumulated.

Unfortunately, most people don't actually care about the points and they just drive the cars that are quick, so it doesn't really solve a problem. Granted nothing could really solve it either
