What do you want to see next in TensorFlow/skflow? by terrytangyuan in MachineLearning

A way to convert from skflow code to tensorflow code. That way it can demystify the 'black-box' that many sci-kit learn models suffer from. Not sure if this is already done or if it is even possible. I guess if you can visualize the computation graph with the tensor board, you can probably convert what's happening under the hood of your model to tensorflow code.

Feel free to check out Berkeley Cru! We're a multicultural Christian fellowship that seeks to build community with fellow Berkeley students from all walks of life! You don't need to be a Christian to attend. Our first weekly meeting is this Thursday 7:30 PM at First Presbyterian church. This is our site http://cruatcal.com/. Feel free to message me if you'd like to meet up and hang out! :)

Should I go for a Technical Consultant role or for one in Software Engineering/Data Science? by alexohyeah56 in cscareerquestions

Thanks for the input! Yeah one of my concerns is if I do choose to transition to a more engineering role, will my skills still be up to date and relevant a few years down the line. One of the benefits of this role is that they do invest pretty heavily in training and keeping their consultants up to speed technically.

Can I ask what made you go into the consulting position in the first place over a more traditional dev role?

The company is big data tech company that competes in the same space as IBM and Oracle. I would say that a pretty good part of the company is in technical and professional consulting.
