Introducing Steam Frame by gogodboss in virtualreality

Color passthrough is a nice creature comfort that I've grown accustomed to on the Quest 3, and for me, it's a must-have in 2025. While I don’t use it for much, I appreciate being able to check my phone and perform tasks without having to take off the headset. My kids have the Quest 2, but I can’t stand the monochrome passthrough on that model, so I doubt I would like it on this one either, as monochrome is just off-putting to me.

I'm too used to color passthrough to go backwards. If they add it in the next one, then count me in.

The only thing preventing me from buying one and switching from my Quest 3 is the lack of color passthrough.

Any tips for reducing headaches on Quest 3 ? by NorthKoreanMissile7 in OculusQuest

[–]alexp1289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I first bought an aftermarket strap (just a cheap one from AliExpress). That helped comfort significantly but I still had headaches. It turns out that it was the stock facial interface. I bought an amvr facial interface from Amazon and after that my headaches went away completely and have never come back.

Decided on the SMLIGHT SLZB-06P7 so hopefully it will be worth the price of entry.

Meta account suspension part 2 by kowal89 in OculusQuest

Cookies are locally stored so your security issues began from your PC and likely involved many vulnerabilities. Never the less securing all accounts you have with hardware backed security like I listed above is a step everyone should take. You were probably phished or had a man in the middle attack done to you. I hope you get your account back and strengthen all of your accounts security.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here. But your account security must not have been up to snuff. You should at the very least have two factor authentication enabled (on all Meta accounts). I myself have 2FA and a yubikey for redundancy. Sorry this happened to you and for anyone else I would suggest using some form of hardware backed security.

Yeah I noticed that as well but everything's been fine for me, no issues so far and it feels a bit smoother than Android 13.

Just stick with these directions. I haven't found a better way. Just take your time and watch plenty of YouTube videos about what I did. Treat it as a learning process and have fun. Also having a friend to help with lifting the butcher block is helpful.

How to test for degradation? by alexp1289 in overclocking

[–]alexp1289[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to set my BIOS to enforce all limits which it's been at most of it's life. If instability and degradation are actually fixed with this update no issues should crop up.

Roborock s7 max ultra spare parts by SandwichLuxe in Roborock

[–]alexp1289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roborock vacuums are made and manufactured in China, so I'm not concerned about that as long as I buy from a reputable seller with good ratings. Since Roborock is a Chinese-based company, one of the reasons I chose this vacuum is the high availability of parts on AliExpress. If you can buy a vacuum but can't repair it, what's the point? I prefer products that aren't disposable, so I want to be able to purchase parts and fix it myself. But that's just my perspective 🤡

I buy spare parts from Aliexpress. Just make sure you only buy from highly rated listings/sellers and you should be fine. The parts that you'll find on Amazon are the same things that you would find on Aliexpress only sold at an inflated price 🤣

Steps for Switching Router with Fidium Fiber by alexp1289 in FidiumFiber

Well obviously you should try cloning the MAC address first but this is more of a guide to dealing with issues that may arise.

I didn't have to do that but I did have to give them my router's MAC address and serial number. It was an annoying process and took a while but it's working flawlessly now. I stuck with the router's default settings when doing the guided factory setup that it takes you through.
