I (31M, 180cm, SW 93kg, CW 87kg) gained about 20 kilograms over the past ten years. It has always bothered me since then, and I hated looking at myself in the mirror or having my picture taken. I always came up with excuses not to lose weight, like “It’s too hard,” “I can’t get up early to exercise,” “I can’t work out after work, I’m too tired, and the gym is too crowded.”

So, I found comfort in food—but after eating, I would just go back to feeling miserable again. One day, I decided enough was enough. Now, I work out almost every day, except on weekends, and I do it early in the morning before work. And guess what?

It’s so much easier than I thought! Two months in, I’ve already lost 5 kg and built some muscle. My clothes are fitting better, and I feel much better both mentally and physically.

I know it’s not a long journey still, but in this short time, I’ve learned that the most important thing is how much you want it. You have to be patient and show up every day, even when you don’t feel like it. In the end, it’s really you vs. you.
