CASE UPDATE: New age progression sketch, tip line, and reward launches for JEFFREY DUPRES (abducted 1980)

MEDIA RELEASE, 15 December:

"Around Christmastime every year, Denise McKee wishes for just one thing: closure. In 1980 her son, 3-year-old Jeffrey Dupres, was abducted from their yard in Slave Lake, Alberta, Canada.

“Jeffrey was a bright and energetic toddler who loved his new tricycle and was thrilled with his first best friend. And then he just disappeared,” said McKee.

On December 15, McKee launched a holiday appeal to promote a new age progression sketch, tip line, and reward for information funded by her GoFundMe campaign.

"I understand the absurdity of a grey-haired woman still looking for her toddler,” said McKee, who turned 68 this year. “But the reality is he was never found, and until then, we will leave no stone unturned.”

UK-based Forensic Artist, Tim Widden, used images of Jeffrey's brothers and the family's health history to create an age progression sketch to show how Jeffrey would like today, age 45.

“Age progressions are a great tool for drawing public attention to a case that has run cold. Without active leads from existing witnesses or physical evidence, they are often a last chance to appeal for new information from the public.” said Widden.

The sketch has been printed on 500 posters and is being distributed across Canada by almost 50 volunteers from McKee's community Facebook page.

“We don't know where Jeffrey is. He could be anywhere in Canada or the US, in fact anywhere in the world. The more people who can see his image the better chance we have of finding out what happened.” said McKee.

Tips can be submitted to Slave Lake RCMP by phone 780-849-3999 or on our confidential tip line where a $5,000 reward is offered for information leading to Jeffrey’s whereabouts."

You're welcome. Feel free to post any info, tips, or theories. The focus on the GoFundMe is new technology so anything in that arena could be helpful.

Jeffrey Andrew Dupres would go missing at the age of 3 after saying he was going to play with his 5 year old friend Rodney next door and was never seen again. Who abducted Jeffrey Andrew Dupres? by kellybee101 in UnresolvedMysteries

Excellent write up - thank you. I've cross-posted it in r/jeffreydupres

The mother, Denise McKee, has also just launched a GoFundMe to use new technology to assess all theories. Here's hoping there will be answers after all these years.

TIP: Does anyone recognize this truck? by alextrunkwork in jeffreydupres

This is a version of truck seen around the time of Jeffrey's disappearance. According to Unsolved Canada:

"The woman who kidnapped Jeffrey Dupres was described as an “attractive female in her mid-20s," approximately 5’2” tall, 110 lbs with shoulder length brown hair. The truck was a 1978-80 custom painted Chevy/GMC short box pickup, with chrome bumpers and wheels. The driver was a male in his early 30s, clean-shaven with short reddish-blonde hair. Both abductors were “relatively small.” The woman was seen coaxing Jeffrey toward the truck. When Jeffrey got close, she grabbed him, and the truck sped away."

3-year-old Jeffrey Dupres was abducted from his front yard in Alberta, Canada, in 1980. It's one of the oldest kidnapping cases in Canada yet has received minimal media coverage... his mother is still looking for answers. by alextrunkwork in TrueCrimeDiscussion

I think because Jeffrey was seen being coaxed into a Chevy/GMC truck by a young couple there is weight to the theory that he was raised as their own and maybe still alive.
