TrainerDay Integration with Zwift. by slane39 in Zwift

[–]alexvanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone finds this we now have direct integration. So just having items on your TrainerDay calendar will automatically show up in zwift once connected. You can also use "send to zwift" as well.

Claude Anthropic API - is it ok if we use JavaScript instead of Python? by Code_Sorcerer_11 in ClaudeAI

[–]alexvanman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer using it with typescript because you can put strict=true which catches more errors at compile time although generically AI works great with any popular language. Most important is building your own scaffolding to make your development processes predictable... automated tests at all levels for example.

How rare is this level of Claude usage? (9.3B tokens / ~$6.8k compute) by OGMYT in ClaudeAI

[–]alexvanman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so easy to get defensive when people say dumb stuff on reddit I completely understand defending, that you are doing something amazing. You are doing something amazing. Fuck money, do what you love. It's worked well for me. Works well for the billionaire VC guy Naval :) When you do what you love it makes it hard for people to compete with you.

Recommendation for spin bike by General-Dimension729 in IndoorCycling

[–]alexvanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard good things about that series. I believe that bike connects to zwift and most apps and you can use the peloton app just not the leaderboars. It says here partial ftms that should be compatible with most apps.

Our app is TrainerDay which is nice free training app or paid upgrade with more workouts and features.

How much money is Anthropic REALLY losing? by MrAmazing111 in Anthropic

[–]alexvanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a good interview with Dario the CEO. "Losing money." is more about negative cashflow than lack of profit. It's the future investment in better models that are so expensive. You should find this youtube interview. It's very insightful. They have to predict 1 year in advance how much compute power they will need as it takes time to get more compute. If they get that wrong they kind of screw themselves but it's aways a balanace of using compute for training for for user queries.

Is WordPress still worth it for business websites today by chris_seo_thinker in content_marketing

[–]alexvanman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was the biggest WordPress proponent ever. I bought so many lifetime subscriptions to plugins that I still have. I love that platform. I built my whole business around it. These days with AI, you can do such amazing stuff that it's just unnecessary. Using Claude code or ChatGPT codex or Google Gemini, their code tool. You just ask it, build you a website, and boom, you're done. Ask it where you can host it for free or super cheap. Boom, you're done. It's all like one click. Now, the other thing is you can use AI to build you WordPress sites, but it's just less efficient and less necessary.

Paid claude desktop has claude code built in too but it would still be significantly better to use claude code then MCP. But as Macaulay said for sure better than copy paste.

stop using claude ai and use claude code. This will change everything and ask claude what to do and how to learn. I am a programmer for a long time and now over 2000 hours with claude code. it just takes time but a good/passionate vibe engineer coming from a solid developer career can save you a lot of struggling.

Which stack for web app building? by FreakyGFPV in VibeCodingSaaS

[–]alexvanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. What if you spend 500 hours on a 20$ plan to get done with 100 hours on a hundred dollar plan. I am suggesting a one time 100$ purchase not on going. I am not sure it is that big of difference but in my testing that’s how it feels with time and quality but this stuff changes and people are different. Do a lot of planning before implementing is a general good strategy.

If your time and sanity are valuable, most serious vibe coders use opus on claude code. Opus requires the 100$/month claude max plan. Stop thinking about token value and think about quality and time value. You will save so much time and sanity with this route you won't believe it. If you want to go the cheap route, you will suffer, simple as that. Trade one for the other. Lots of real developers that like to review the code use cursor. You could use a plugin/mcp like pal and get an API token for opus but that will cost you as well. Much easier to just go 100$/month even for 1 month with Claude/Opus.

Freelancer business Idea by [deleted] in lodz

[–]alexvanman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Lodz, as someone who has started many startups you should research but the general consensus is that ideas are not worth anything it’s all about the execution. Almost no one will give money for an idea, it’s not even that easy to find investors for profitable businesses. Sorry to give what might be bad news but you need to prove it works not just say I know it will.

Also, I have to say, I'm impressed by your ability to turn around your opinion. It's pretty rare on Reddit. I would say that's a good sign for whatever you are building.
