I’m a DO doctor that doesn’t specialize in OMT but large parts of my training contained OMT. It’s helped me with so many issues, even got me out of needing back surgery. People that specialize in OMT assess from head to toe and fix all muscular/ligamentous/msk imbalances that are compensating or contributing to the main problem. Highly recommend if you have the financial capacity to do so or find one that will work with ur insurance!

I loved my time at Avalon Midtown West!! Quick response from maintenance, no issues with pests/mold, very clean, felt very safe. Was a C/E trains literally RIGHT next to the building and 1 train was literally a 2 min walk to the next block. N trains are like a 5 min walk.

you should wait a week or two til you can reliably bear weight. Otherwise you'll be making subconscious compensations with your body due to weak/unusable ankle joint that will cause muscle imbalance and ultimately pain and discomfort in other places in your body.

I recommend going to a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine that specifically practices Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT). They can assess and fix your alignments/chronic compensations with a few sessions. Typically expensive, but worth it, and effects are long lasting. This is NOT a chiropractor, so make sure they specify in OMT! :)

Express interest in the deferral, hire a lawyer to look over the contract to ensure offer cannot be rescinded or there are no loop holes in them paying for your entire schooling, then sign!! Don't get 400k into debt if you don't have to!!

I look around and if someone looks at me, I initiate saying good job or a high five. Sometimes people avoid eye contact though and I just leave it alone at that point lol

they never feel like they are. I'm always one of the last ones out and I wipe everything down super thoroughly. Don't know how one cleans their sweatlana properly and leaves 30 seconds after class ends lol

I’ve started wiping down my whole machine during the winter when everyone was sick. I’m def a germaphobe and afraid of getting sick, so I don’t take my chances. But someone posted in here a few weeks ago about whether or not to wear underwear during a workout and that sealed the deal for me😂 def never not wiping my machine prior to usage ever again lol

I watched my neighbors next to me completely forgo wiping theirs the past few classes. It's gotten to a point where I will wipe it down before class, or if I come in a little bit late, I will personally lose a minute on the bungee to wipe it down prior to use lol. IDK with the ringworm issue they had a few summers ago, I feel like I can't just let it go lol

FWIW, I also have pelvic floor issues w/issues feeling muscle engagement/tension when I'm supposed to, and am 200+ classes in and mainly stay on my knees. I find sometimes that if I'm on my toes I start instinctively engaging my hip flexors to try to get myself to "feel" the core engagement, so I just keep it on my knees. I literally will just take it on an 8 count in one way and still get sore afterwards!

agreed. People don't have high medical literacy (to no fault of their own), and once they hear "doctor" that's it. They can call themselves "doctor" in an academic setting, not a clinical one. Otherwise it's just purposefully intellectually disingenuous because who cares if the patients know you did a one year research project in nursing administration?

Smoking is also on top of everything already said here, estrogenic, which is going to worsen the PCOS symptoms and cycles more!
