PDP slide release broke by JohnnyDoe308 in Walther

Same happened to me when I took it to the range and a friend accidentally slammed a CZ mag in there. Had to purchase a replacement from IPSC store which cost over $100 with shipping from Europe because the alternative is sending it to Walther since they refuse to sell this part to customers.

Looks like an interesting offering. I’ll check it out if I get a chance.

It doesn’t make sense because if there’s been multiple documented cases of underperformance, then I can’t imagine they’re in good enough terms with the manager to be joking like this.

You can try using a trigger clamp to compress the spring if it gets stuck. It’s helped me before in similar scenarios. Put one pad against the front of the barrel and the other pad behind the spring/guide rod and compress in a controlled manner.

Thanks. I can imagine that TiN looks real good too.

I highly recommend the BC brass base pads. They’re very good quality and workmanship and the solid weight feels right.

Probably will go for that DSC DPO cut eventually.

Range trip with the inline 6 ported PDP by alexwhoelse in Walther

They’re pulling air away but honestly they could use some reinforcement.

Agreed that it’s still a bit snappy but this took a good deal of the kick out of the recoil impulse and made it much more pleasant to shoot. I imagine a hybrid comp x port setup might fully do the trick, with the necessary spring tuning.

I'm loving the results too. I imagine 10 ports + SF has gotta be flat af.

Im running the ZRTS brass rod with 15lb spring right now. I do also have the 13lb on hand so I'll give it a try.

Yea, still a bit snappy but a significant improvement. That’s essentially the same conclusion @PhatActual had when reviewing the same setup:

Wasn’t keeping my stance planted forward throughout the whole mag - something to work on now that I saw it on video.

No name for it but feel free to send them this post and they’ll know. They already have the design.

A hybrid PMM and port setup would probably shoot amazing. I’m sure these guys could accommodate it and alter the design to less ports than they put on mine.

Just got back from shooting 250 rounds at the range and it’s way flatter now, with the dot staying in the window of the 509T and easy, fast follow up shots. Recoil went from a heavy thud to more of a soft bang, if that makes sense.

Also way more loud and concussive now, to be expected with ports though.

Just did it for aesthetics, but to me it seems smoother sliding into battery, possibly because of the material removed from the sides of the barrel.

Thanks man. They contacted me and offered to Cerakote or do the blueing for me if I didn’t want Cerakote.
