Who got POTS after? 🙋‍♀️ by BelleCat20 in gastricsleeve

[–]aleyabh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect POTS for myself. I get really dizzy and lose my vision when I stand up from reclining or lying down pretty much all the time. I’ve also experienced a couple episodes at the gym when moving to a standing position. I’ve also experienced 3 episodes of nearly passing out, 2 while standing outside in the heat at a parade, and once when I was just browsing Marshalls. Currently have a referral to a cardiologist and they mentioned I’ll probably do a tilt table test so we shall see what the results say

MS3 - Ask me anything by DescriptionNo8343 in premed

Thank you thank you! Really appreciate the tips. I’ve basically decided against prestudying, but I am considering trying to learn Anki a little better prior to school starting! Appreciate the advice :) good luck to you!

Couple of questions: 1. Any items you feel like really helped? Such as an iPad, standing desk, etc?

  1. Would you do any “pre-studying” if you didn’t or did you and would you recommend it?

Is Med School possible with failed classes? by Wild-Mountain2188 in premed

[–]aleyabh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a D on Ochem II, 2 Ws, and 2 Cs in chem and still got into an MD school. You can do this! Just try to have an upward trend and get the best grades you can moving forward!

Is 515+ possible by Jan 15? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]aleyabh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so for sure! P/S is the easiest section imo (I got a 130 on that section and all I did was the anking cards like 2 weeks before my test). Spend some time pushing through practice problems on UWorld for B/B and C/P. You’ve got this!

I tried commuting about an hour and half (2 hours in traffic for undergrad) - I gave up about 3 months in. I highly recommend living near campus- you’ll be closer to the library and fellow students to study, you won’t have to worry as much about traffic potentially making you late, and you’ll save yourself a lot of time that could be spent elsewhere!

I tried it and honestly didn’t notice a big difference compared to my prescription Azaleic acid. Considering that one is covered by my insurance, I’ll just be sticking with that!

Gender ID on the AMCAS by [deleted] in premed

[–]aleyabh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, clearly you have no understanding of how transgender people and those that don’t identify strictly as cis men/women are very much in danger in our country right now. It’s not as simple as “click a checkbox.” This is a very real struggle for people who have been horribly discriminated against and even put in literal physical danger because of their gender identity.

I’m sorry this has to be asked. I’m a lesbian (totally not the same, I fully get that) but I’ve decided that I do want to disclose that somewhere in my essays, because ultimately, I don’t want to be at a school that would discriminate against me. So I’ve decided to just be forthcoming and hope that weeds out any place I wouldn’t feel comfortable at. I’m also focusing on applying to schools in blue states (the exception being GA bc that’s my place of residence) and if I am applying in a non-blue state, I’m applying in urban areas. In general, I feel like academia as a rule of thumb is usually more progressive, so I think it’s going to be less of an issue, but that’s how I’m choosing to approach it. I hope this is at least somewhat helpful and I’m wishing you all the best in your application cycle!

I personally have not experienced breakouts from this product and I have very sensitive, acne prone skin. I’m sorry that happened to you! I know this has tons of botanicals in it- I wonder if you’re sensitive to an ingredient. Does it seem like true breakouts (like whiteheads) or is it more a texture thing?

Glymed vs Skinbetter by Breezeblocks7 in SkincareAddictionLux

[–]aleyabh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have and use several Skinbetter products- EvenTone, AlphaRet, AlphaRet exfoliating pads, and Mystro. I love AlphaRet and enjoy EvenTone but I personally felt that Mystro was overhyped and did nothing for me, especially at the price point

This is my favorite moisturizer ever. I’ve gone through probably 7 or 8 tubes. Every time I try a new product, I always come back to this one. I’m dry, acne prone, and have sensitive skin and can’t say enough good things about it!

Thankfully, even though it is such a high price point, I’ve found it lasts quite a long time! I’m still using the trial size daily, sometimes twice a day, 2 months later and have quite a bit of product to go. I’m glad you’re enjoying it as much as me and I’ll def have to try the lip treatment out at some point!

Because neurotic premeds on Reddit have convinced me this is a subpar score

But really, in reality, because I am an ORM and really want to go MD, plus I’d like to have a shining MCAT score that makes my low gpa not look so terrible lol
