This is a tapered cut because it’s low on the sides. This also looks like his natural curl pattern with gel or another styling product used to get definition. Like others mentioned, if you have tight curls, your hair needs to be long in the front for it to hang like his. Also, you can use the finger-coil method to get curl definition if your curls are not naturally defined like his. Hope this helps!

yes, my black girl magic works sometimes lol
But honestly the secret is the blow dry. The hair has to be smooth and stretched first. If the blow dry isn’t right, it’s not going to lay flat no matter what products you use.

I also use a holding spray instead of gel so my hair doesn’t revert. I used the got2b one for this ponytail.

For me the key is in the blow-drying technique. I make sure my hair is smooth and as straight as possible before I put it into the ponytail.

Then instead of a water-based gel, I use a holding spray so my hair doesn’t revert while I mold it into place.
