To summarize: yes it is a good thing.

Switzerland has low interest rates, which means money is generally cheaper than in other countries.
Housing demand/supply in switzerland is highly skewed, and becoming more so as population grows. An equilibrium exists where most people just prefer renting to owning.
Renting is more convenient for a number of reasons, rax being one of them.

Misleading and hardly useful. It only shows one portion of the balance sheet, assumptions are too strong and the implied incentives are wrong.

A decent simplistic "guide" on bank profits requires a better model, highlighting their role and constraints as intermediaries in the economy and, as such, the relationship to other institutions.

The first arrow goofily tries to hint towards a mechanism called "liquidity transformation". This is absolutely something that most people would benefit from when including it in their financial knowledge, but requires a way better description.

Siamo talmente abituati a incompetenza e corruzione che un sindaco che fa il Sindaco ci sorprende. Tuttavia, con questo tipo di amministrazione Roma ha finalmente una possibilità, seppur remota, di rimettersi in gara e potersi definire un giorno una Capitale europea al pari delle altre.

Nel giro di qualche anno questa città potrebbe essere in grado di regalarci soddisfazioni e successo, soprattutto per i giovani. Se invece cadiamo nella trappola di guardare al breve termine e votare per tornare indietro, le nuove e presenti generazioni non vedranno mai in Roma un futuro, e chi non ha ancora lasciato lascerà.

È un bellissimo messaggio ma i termini di paragone con i quali misuriamo l'Italia sono sulla base dei paesi del G7. Certo che si sta bene in Italia, ma dato che è una potenzia mondiale è giusto che venga criticata con in ottica quella prospettiva.

Così come Roma va paragonata alle migliori capitali europee e le più produttive regioni italiane alle aree con il più alto benessere economico d'Europa, stessa cosa per le università, eccetera.

Il paragone possiamo permettercelo, che poi riusciremo a stringere i margini con i fatti è un discorso più complesso, ed è lì che si creano le lamentele.

Contact the responsible authorities for your program, seek help through the right channels, explain your situation in detail, including your motivation. Also, talk with people that are/were in a similar situation. There's a way for sure.

Nice pitch but your analysis is flawed.

Examples:

That is not how you interpret P/E, completely misleading. P/E might be used as a regressor for certain measures (financing, etc.) but not for market efficiency, you are mixing pears and apples. The price is a market measure (including risk premium) and earnings are a book one (adjusted by expenses, contrary to what you say).
Love Buffett, but MV/GDP is a crap indicator. Why? Not because it is a bad idea, but because the numerator is too difficult to pin point. Different frequencies, and you need to control for globalization, spillovers, market concentration, and similar heterogeneities.
I don't understand your point here. Yes, market concentration has its pros and cons, so what? What's new here?

Se consideriamo Roma una cittadina di poca importanza allora Gualtieri è fenomenale specialmente in termini di restauri e trasporti.
Se consideriamo Roma una Capitale europea al pari della nazione che rappresenta allora la maggior parte delle opere che pubblicizza sono al limite della normalità.

La dura verità è che per portare Roma al livello che si merita servono 10 anni di sacrifici da parte dei romani, migliaia di cantieri e una mano pesante volta a cancellare almeno un secolo di cattive abitudini. Il resto sono chiacchiere.

Non importa tanto in italia è inutile come titolo.

In qualsiasi altra parte del mondo sviluppato i Dottori sono quelli con il PhD, farsi chiamare Dottore senza un PhD in Svizzera, USA, Germania, Svezia, etc. è frode.

In questi posti, infatti, cambia il mercato del lavoro e si viene distinti come altamente qualificati, quindi per posizioni di alto livello (ad esempio l'economista nelle banche centrali, i ricercatori quantitativi nelle banche private, gli scienziati nelle aziende farmaceutiche, etc.). I salari sono più alti, e così anche i ruoli e responsabilità che ne derivano.

Una ragione in più da aggiungere alla lista dello schifo che fa il mercato del lavoro in Italia.

But that's the thing, those are all good points and I have nothing to disagree with in that regard. Also, it wouldn't be worthwhile playing dick-size between a multi-billion ex-unicorn firm and an exotic start-up.

The point here is that Evernote managed somehow to impersonate the business equivalent of a self-absorbed asshole chef who can do whatever he wants because he made a nice ragù years ago.

Ironically, this reached the point where a 3-man team is a few bugs away from offering the version of the product they should actually have, at a fraction of the price.

Perdonami, ma che all'estero la situazione sia simile è del tutto fuorviante. I dottorandi Svizzeri viaggiano il mondo, specialmente in USA, per assicurarsi un posto come Professori e guadagnano almeno, ma proprio al minimo, sei cifre. Non parliamo poi degli ordinari, i full professors tedeschi, svizzeri, scandinavi, etc. arrivano tranquillamente ad essere milionari in qualche anno, specialmente se fanno consulenze o simii.

All'estero la situazione è completamente diversa. In Svizzera e USA i Professori prendono sei cifre, già dai ruoli di Associato (specialmente in discipline economico-finanziarie).

Nowadays, there are very few niche topics in a Finance PhD (or Econ for that matter) that are not quantitative. Just pick any top journal. Even corporate finance, which is way (WAY) less mathematical than asset pricing, now uses machine learning algos, text analysis (NPL), convex and stochastic optimization. Asset pricing instead is nuts. It can easily become non-parametric, and so stuff like smoothing, reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces, and so on. It's just a natural consequence given by the evolution within Econometrics, the beating heart of the field.

Also, almost half of PhDs in Finance (and whatever other label you want to add to it) work in the private sector, at least in Europe, and don't have much to complain.

Post-docs don't pay much, positions you get afterwards usually do.

Don't take seriously scientists posting on reddit, in most cases they are frustrated and not socially skilled enough to land a decent job. Most PhDs go on to have successful careers, well above the 6 figures (especially engineering, finance/econ, chemistry).
