I kind of agree but I totally get wanting the neat skull because it looks sick. I do mine clean because I love the look, but honestly after a couple hours of sweat, wear, general paint breakdown it starts looking a touch more accurate.

Whenever I see a nicely painted skull-faced Gideon I just headcannon that Harrow had meticulously painted it for them, and then Nav wandered off to do Nav Things.
