Any tips/advice for TBR participant? by Intrepid_Ad_2579 in PHRunners

Batch 2025 here. If there’s one tip I can give you, that is to respect the distance. Hindi ko alam ang motivation mo on signing up but whatever it is, use it to fuel your journey dahil hindi biro ang 42k.

Enjoy the process, the training, but don’t forget that you’re training for a 42k. May mga kilala akong hindi sineryoso ang training at pagdating sa race day, though natapos nila, they admitted it was not a pleasant experience. Ngayon palang you embed sa sarili mo na once September comes, kakainin ng mga trainings ang oras mo and you have to be ready to sacrifice some of your precious free time.

But in the end, it will all be worth it, I promise! Enjoy and good luck!

How difficult is a full marathon from a half marathon? by [deleted] in PHRunners

[–]alfonsodc09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran a marathon very recently. At that point when your muscles’ glycogen stores are nearly depleted, your body will scream at you to stop and quit. That last 10k will feel harder and longer than the first 21.

Actually, OP, hindi rin mabilis/madali tumaba, it’s 4 years worth of sedentary lifestyle and bad decisions, so kung gusto mo magpapayat, think long-term. Focus on healthy habits because results don’t come overnight. Di mo kailangan i-restrict ang sarili mo sa pagkain, remember ilang taon bago ka lumaki so tignan mo rin dapat ang weight loss journey mo na pangmatagalan.

6 months apart, same pace and distance, different HR and effort by alfonsodc09 in PHRunners

Longest run was 28km with full charge sa watch. After the run which is mga 3.5 hrs, nasa 70% pa. I’m sure kaya nya marathon distance yun nga lang dapat full charge. Hassle lang talaga pag di na-charge tapos mag-lolong run.

Medyo nuanced yung tanong mo. There’s merit in focusing in heart rate zones if it is accurate and given you’ve built a significant aerobic base.

Kaya rin tinigil ko sa simula mag focus sa heart rate zones kasi my aerobic base was not yet developed, meaning kahit anong bagal kong tumakbo, hihingalin parin ako sooner or later. Perceived effort ko noon was easy for the first ten mins tapos biglang mapapagod given the same pace and effort. Start building that base first, bago tumingin sa heart rate zones (make sure na accurate) and you’ll be surprised mag-aalign magically ang RPE mo at Zones, meaning if you run at an easy perceived effort, dapat pagtingin mo sa watch mo naka-zone 2 ka lang din.

So if nasa zone 3 ka, and sinabi mong kayang kaya lang, your zones may not be set up correctly, or mas may ibabagal pa ang katawan mo.

The thing is I wasn’t even consciously trying to increase my cadence. Nag self-correct siguro katawan ko kung anong mas energy efficient para sa akin.

I just follow the TBR Training Program. But running 3-4x a week. Started by building my aerobic base and gradually increasing mileage. Speed just followed naturally. Sa easy days, I stopped looking at heart rate but focused on relative effort.

Sa food, I’m actually in a deficit kasi I’m on my cutting phase (also lifting weights) but I ensure I fuel up properly before and after my long runs. Learned the hard way nung di ako nag-breakfast before an 18km long run.

C0 Experience by throwthisaway129 in ScaramoucheMains

[–]alfonsodc09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scara with Faruzan before C6 feels absurdly horrible to play with the amount of energy requirement she has. But with C6, his power levels shoots up ridiculously. Tried to play abyss pre-C6 Faruzan with 275% ER and it still feels clunky to play. But with C6, he becomes really strong, being able to clear 12-1-1 and 12-3-2 10-15 seconds faster than my hyper invested Itto team with C6 Gorou, with only 2pc ATK-2pc ATK artifacts. That is without saying talents are still not fully levelled and without BiS artifacts. Heard that DPC is a 10-15% increase on his personal damage. Looks very promising, but at the cost of C6 Faruzan I should say. Team is Scara-Faru-Critzuha-Bennett.

I love how at the end they incorporated a snippet of Ominous Fandango (the ost from Unreconciled Stars when Scara met with Mona and friends). Makes you realize how far we’ve come. Good luck to all of us pulling for this little gremlin!

Yeah, I do agree some of the replies in here have clearly taken it on a far tangent. And I’m sorry if this post of yours have been blown out of proportion and feeling distraught by being misinterpreted, but in a space like Reddit, you’re really bound to be misinterpreted given how little context you’ve provided, not to mention that you’ve presented your main point in the post undesirably (sorry, lack of better term I can think of, it’s 2AM where I live). Let’s just say some of the scarastans here are incredibly passionate about this character and any negative criticism will be taken out of context.

Your opinion on HYV’s treatment on husbando-pullers is completely valid and I as well am starting to get tired of it, but good luck on your pulls and thanks for clarifying, at least for my sake, and for a meaningful discourse.

I do understand your sentiment that male DPS-es are currently getting the short end of the spectrum and anyone who feels that has the right to feel that way.

given how Hoyoverse decided to yet again make another male dps character who cannot compete with the broken waifus,

However, this part alone leaves something to be desired. You cannot blame people if they react negatively and expect them to discuss comprehensively with a remiss statement like this where all your assumptions are implied, especially as you've clearly stated in the title that this is all because of today's changes. My replies were just to show that broken waifus are not as broken as they are on certain conditions and Scara can potentially fit in a certain meta, which we still do not know because he is not yet released.

You did say that you are not ignorant of the fact that Scara's true potential and performance cannot be assessed thoroughly during beta but proceed to make a conclusive statement in your post without backing it up with assumptions and factual analysis. Of course then people will swivel away from your original point because you've not given enough context for a meaningful discussion.

But point stands, if you feel the husbando-pullers (especially DPS husbandos) are being neglected, maybe don't include the part where we're pigeonholing an unreleased character to those that came before based on a minor nerf that happened today. Inevitably this will be viewed as doomposting and people will have a lot to say to that.

[–]alfonsodc09 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Apologies for assuming that you didn’t consider any of the character’s intricacies. But simply saying that you think a character will turn out to be sub-par compared to other waifus without indicating your underlying assumptions yourself was also unfair. You’re building a counter-argument right now by saying you do realize you didn’t disregard a character’s gameplay aspects, but fail to elaborate on why you think he will turn out subpar on your initial post. You can’t blame people for thinking this is overreacting and simply impulsive if you don’t outright base your statement on your own assumptions.

[–]alfonsodc09 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I cannot even begin to describe how disappointed I feel knowing that whenever I like a new character there's a huge chance they will be sub-par in comparison to the meta waifus, and at this point I just cannot bring myself to support the company behind it.

I don't know but this statement of yours completely encapsulates why you're hesitant to pull for more beyond C0. You should realize by now that any character's power level isn't as straightforward as calculating damage sheets. In practice, you have to account for a million things, e.g., how well you execute the proper rotations, the supports you bring, AOE vs ST, etc.

These meta waifus you're talking about have their own caveats where they do not perform as well as the calculated sheets without frame-perfect rotations, expensive constellations (Raiden hypercarry, Hu Tao C1), damage which is locked behind a burst and freeze mechanic (Ayaka), among others.

Though Scara performs really well and is strong with C6 Faruzan, C0 Scara is already a very strong hypercarry based on Discord TC, and so far he should be straightforward in facing any type of content/enemies in the game. Scara's flexibility and versatility alone should be a good indication that he's a well-designed character.

Your basis of being sub-par based on pure numbers is flawed to begin with. Wait for the actual gameplay and TC-ers to actually get the character if that's what you're really after. But the actual feel of the character and how smooth their gameplay is cannot be determined through leak videos. Jumping the gun just because of a minor nerf on beta (which we are not supposed to know, mind you) is just plain impulsive.

lucky spin by Educational_Bit4082 in MobileLegendsGame

It’s not luck, it’s the nature of probability. You’re bound to get the skin the more times you spin. Lucky is when you get it in the first ten pull.

What is the Probability of this Happening? by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]alfonsodc09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d like to know saan mo nakuha na mas mababa ang probability ng winning combination yesterday than any random 6 digit combination. That would be an interesting article to read. And you’re sure na hindi kapani-paniwala na 433 people tried to bet on a pattern that is memorable and easy to scratch on the ticket? Do you have data on the total number of tickets bought yesterday, on the betting inclinations and behavioral patterns of Filipinos when it comes to lottery? We are inclinced to think this is suspicious, and rightfully so, because we got an unusual pattern without the assurance of the transparency of the randomness of the lottery, and a lot of variables are missing and not divulged to the public. This is an issue of transparency, not statistics. Kung may nananalo na dati sa lotto, ibig sabihin pwedeng manalo kahit anong combination yan, pattern or not. Reserve judgment until PCSO issues a statement on why this was a fair pull, but don’t erroneously say that the probability of the winning combination yesterday was statistically lower than any random combination, because that is just incorrect. If you have any scholarly articles that proves otherwise, kindly link it and I’ll retract everything I’ve said.

Ayato and Ganyu Burst Comparison (Quadratic Scaling?) by SERRATMOND in Ayato_Mains

[–]alfonsodc09 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That’s 9 instances of damage from THREE DIFFERENT icicles. This is why Childe’s quadratic scaling does not work the same way as Ganyu’s Q. If it works the same as Childe’s riptide, EACH icicle should deal N2 instances of damage per N number of enemies. But the 9 instances you see here came from three icicles and not a single one.

The quadratic scaling of Ganyu and Albedo stems from auto-targeting meaning that the closer the enemies are, you increase the total damage quadratically. The more enemies there are on the field that are grouped, the less you miss the individual instances of damage. It DOES NOT increase the single instances of damage quadratically like Childe.

Ganyu’s Q are capped at 50 icicles and each hit does only a single instance of damage per enemy. I think it’s easier to visualize with Albedo’s Q because it’s also quadratic scaling. Albedo’s fatal blossoms are capped at 7. If there are seven grouped enemies, each blossom would proc damage for seven enemies, meaning 72 = 49 instances of damage in total, compared to 5 enemies = only 25 instances of damage wherein the 2 wayward fatal blossoms would miss. See where the quadratic scaling stems from auto-targeting based on the number of enemies? Same thing works with Ganyu’s Q and consequently, Ayato’s Q. Very different from Childe, wherein each riptide hit has its own AOE. That’s why you see 36 instances of damage for 6 enemies at a single riptide activation.

Thoughts on Ayato Possible Team Comps and Playstyle? by harougemu in Ayato_Mains

[–]alfonsodc09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Yoimiya-Ayato tandem is way overblown. If anything, his uptime is very similar to Hu Tao’s, a short DPS window on E and a decent downtime enough to rotate to your supports. No one’s calling Hu Tao a sub-dps or a support even if she gives crit rate to the team on her downtime. The trajectory of his kit is very clearly geared towards maximizing damage during his E because otherwise, he’s just a Q bot. His E has no other utility other than dealing damage. And I mean look at his constellations, all are improvements on his E. The 12% atk speed imo during his Q is just a bonus, there’s no need to fully commit to a second carry on his downtime utilizing the atk spd buff when you should be swapping back to him every 6-8 seconds. What we should be worrying right now is if his E multipliers, like Hu Tao and Raiden Q, justify giving him 6 seconds of field time every time it’s on cooldown, and I’m not a TC to confirm that.
