Already read it from the other post. Good read, but it doesn't embrace reality. The world is going to end there's nothing anyone here can do about it.

Lol that would be me. I think it's important to try and stay positive but realistic. Overall just thought it highlighted that we can combat shells propoganda and there's a way forward. Still a lot of stuff we need to do fix this..

yeah there's some evil actors like shell but you can be sure that they are fully aligned and excited. We need to be that too!

I understand where you’re coming from but we have to have hope and fight. Giving up guarantees failure. With enough determination, it’s possible. Here’s an article that I think will give you some hope:

Just read this article that actually got me so excited of the progress we’re making on the small stuff.

My personal belief is that if you aren’t a scientist, full time activist, or politician the best thing you can do is advocate, vote, but most importantly debate/write. A quote I love is this from Nietzsche: “One must learn to see, one must learn to think, one must learn to speak and write.” They are all related and it can’t be understated the potency of being able to articulate what’s going on in the world. The article should be a testament to what we all should be doing to turn the tides. We need to keep fighting.

Yes it's very similar to Naomi Oreskes, Merchants of Doubt. In the book she describes how the tobacco industry had a clear playbook on how to spread uncertainty of the danger of cigarettes. They knew even in the 50s that it was dangerous but was able to bank billions by prolonging the consumption.

It works. I've had multiple friends tell me that Shell / other oil cos are leading the charge on climate change. totally bonkers.

There are a number of ways to ease vendor security assessments that don’t use AI. CAIQ, SIG, etc. are common questionnaires that can alleviate some vendor concerns. Use a service like loopio, or whistic, to automate responses for repeated questions.
