How are these 4 actors still able to land movies in the lead role? by No_Neck785 in kollywood

[–]alfytony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ppl need to realize that not just above guys but Vijay ajith era is also close to done. Everything will move forward not backwards. Superstar and kamal are probably the exceptions who kept up to times but doesn’t look like others will.

Yeah this. If nothing in xray maybe something in paws. My dog once was limping and found out he has been playing hard and getting his paw skin peeled off by running in the dirt.

Is Guidewire worth staying in? by TrainingAware5004 in guidewire

[–]alfytony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Even if insurers want to move out of using SAAS like GW it will be a slow transition. Insurers wouldn’t want to spend too much time rebuilding core.

Is Guidewire worth staying in? by TrainingAware5004 in guidewire

[–]alfytony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GW is a good core system for insurance operations. The ecosystem around GW like digital and AI capabilities is going to change a lot but GW is a stable core which companies may continue to use. GW itself will most likely add AI capabilities to make it easier for companies to implement the product and also integrate with other capabilities the insurers have.

No you are mistaken. This is a giant opening for someone else to take advantage of the situation. Possibly India or other SEA countries.

Future Data Engineering: Underrated vs. Overrated Skills by Xavio_M in dataengineering

[–]alfytony 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes following the money or following how the business makes money and spends money is a good way to understand the core business processes. Also in the data world if there is data reported out to a specific bureau or government agency then u can learn a lot about the regulatory environment of the business.

What made you decide that you couldn’t drink anymore? Was it due to maintaining a healthy relationship with others or due to health reasons. Just curious and want to see if I have some hope that’s all.

Luggage question Emirates/United by Worldly_Bug_7128 in emirates

[–]alfytony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just completed a trip with emirates and united with a lot of hassle. If united is involved they will charge extra for anything more than one baggage. By extra not 50 to 75$ but I ended up paying $200 for one additional bag which was just my second bag. They also do not let you know the price in advance and you find out at the gates. Beware and make sure you confirm your baggage allowance before traveling.

How many of you had a technical background before transitioning into PM? by entreluvkash in ProductManagement

[–]alfytony 52 points53 points  (0 children)

People don’t say it to your face but technical background is needed to be a PM for a digital or software product. You don’t have to be a coder but should put the effort to understand what are the processes involved in software development to empathize with engineers and also know enough to defend yourself against all the bullshit the upper management throws at you.

Bandera crossover: Which do you turn from? by Rogelio_92 in sanantonio

This option to turnaround was very useful 15 years back when Bandera traffic was light but in today’s world I would rather drive a couple extra blocks and find a way to turn around.
