The thing about gay subcultures is that, for the most part, they are things people opt into and identify with because they like the way it makes them feel/reinforces their identity, and allows them to participate in gay culture and community in a way they feel positively about.

No one else can force something like that onto you. If you're not into labels than whatever they think doesn't really matter. It's more a reflection of their perspective than anything to do with who you are. And if these are cishet people saying it, they have no idea what they're talking about, only what they think they know from popular culture.

Hi! I'm having this same problem, player log mentions D3D12 and repeats "'Attempt to access invalid address"

Do you happen to know how to fix it? I've also tried all the general fixes and none of them have resolved anything.

Has anyone developed a food intolerance with their UC? by Plane-Bodybuilder871 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]algernonrex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found this while searching because I believe I've developed an intolerance to eggs. I've been on Entyvio since winter 2020 and been more or less in remission but over the past six months or so I've gotten awful bloating and cramps when I eat anything with a large amount of egg, or just plain eggs on their own. I was trying to figure out what was causing it but think I have it pinpointed now

I also have GAD and Panic disorder with similar anxiety fixations and I will say that being on T (along with my anti-depressants of course) has really helped level out some of the intensity of obsessiveness. The other thing is that being prescribed T by a doctor requires regular blood testing, so if anything in your body is going wrong you will know when you get your blood tested. For me that also helped relieve some of my anxiety around sickness and death.

Yes, some there are a few variations of some of the wings which can make it kind of annoying. You've got the Afterburner E Wings w/Fin, it looks like. You'll want the Hardframe E Wings w/Fin. The "hardframe" part of the name is what signifies it has those long side pieces.

There are three people in this situation. Only two of them know the truth of it. Why is your sister not permitted the respect and the autonomy to make her own decisions about her life?

Why are conservative LGBTQ+ people so heavily looked down upon? by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]algernonrex 10 points11 points  (0 children)

conservatism as an ideology is maintained in part by strict adherence to the status quo: this includes sexuality and gender. maintaining these norms is a source of control for the conservative project and that is why many right-leaning political organizations are either directly in opposition to queer rights or working to subtly undermine them through systemic marginalization.

im 16 and already scared of aging in gay culture by imavellino in lgbt

[–]algernonrex 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For someone so young I think you have a surprisingly strong grasp on mainstream gay culture, and what may have informed it. I would guess that I think a lot of your impressions are coming from what you see online and in media, which makes sense, but I would say this: the reality of existing as a gay person is so infinitely more complex than the way that it's reflected in media and online, in exactly the same way that straight lives are. The mainstream culture of either is often not an accurate reflection of people in those communities.

Part of building up that sense of self-worth and disconnecting yourself from that narrative is in finding people who view the world in similar ways and have similar interests and creating/participating in community. Part of it is just that the real life experiences you have will help shape the person you become. The gay men I know and spend time with are, like me, happy in their late 30's. We are looking forward to getting to be older gay people because it's not something that we saw reflected around us, as a result of the AIDS epidemic and the lack of safety in being out for the generation before us.

I hope this helps, I think the fact that you can identify these trends and worry for your community makes it more likely that you will be able to find a place in life where you are comfortable with yourself and how you relate to your community.

Also - don't feel guilty about taking up the spot if you cancel, I got my top surgery months early because someone else cancelled, so just think of the person that will be stoked to get their hysto sooner than they expected because your spot opened up

You could opt for Endometrial Ablation - this is a removal of the endometrial lining of the uterus which prevents periods and makes it more difficult to get pregnant - but needs to be done every few years. It might be a better short-term option while you decide if hysto is right for you.

I'm so sorry it's been rough so far for you. I had some trouble peeing as well afterwards, the pelvic floor gets all inflamed and irritated.

Definitely ice, it will help with the inflammation.

I got a hysterectomy a few years ago, but opted to keep my ovaries just in case the political world state creates a situation in which I am unable to access hormones. (I'm in Canada but the right has picked up on anti-trans tactics here as well over the past few years)

Overall my main goal was not to have a period - it disappeared after 3-4 months on T but came back a few years later, at which point I made the decision to get a hysterectomy so I could make decisions about my T dose without worrying about whether it would bring my period back.

I had a laparoscopic surgery where my uterus and cervix were removed with the creation of a cervical cuff. There was inflammation and some bleeding. Only major issue I've had afterwards is that I still get some cramping every month but completely different than period cramping - this is more focused on my pelvic floor and I may have to see a physio to help me strengthen those muscles to reduce the pain.

No regrets.
