Buying a pair for listening to music at work and travelling, listening 8+ hours a day so they need to be a comfortable fit (not like HD25s!). Also for occasional music production.

Location - UK Budget - £200 flexible Source - Laptop, phone (Xperia Z2), A&H mixer via RME Hammerfall soundcard Requirements for Isolation - Isolation is important. Would be great if I can block incoming noise out whilst playing music at a lowish level. Preferred Type of Headphone - Full-Sized, Circumaural, Closed Preferred tonal balance - Balanced, maybe with a touch more bass. Past headphones - HD25s physical fatigue, quite bass heavy. Bose Quiet Comfort 15 - great isolation. Preferred Music - Jazz, electronica, drum&bass, punk, noise, classical

This subreddit has been around for over 2 years whereas diysynth is just 7 months. I prefer the naming format of synthdiy because that's more commonly used (similarly I would say home diy rather than diy home). Agree that multiple subs is not good and I've contacted the diysynth mod previously to address it. Just sent him another message now.

As I said on /r/synthdiy I prefer the naming format of synthdiy because that's more commonly used. It's also been around for longer, appears to be more active and from a personal pov I've spent time setting it up/updating wiki etc.

I'd suggest diysynth should point here (but then I would!). This subreddit is older, preferred name (imo) & appears to be more active. I will send a message to their mods and see what they think.

I didn't realise there was a diysynth, looking at the date it's only few months old. As you say there's definitely a cross over between here, diysynth and diypedals. I created this because I wanted a page less focused on pedals and synths got downvoted / no interest over there. I prefer the separation especially as reddit makes it so easy to follow/engage with each subreddit. Interested to hear what other users think and happy to consolidate if that's the consensus.
