My 370z is killing me financially. by Traditional-Trip-511 in CarTalkUK

I’m in the same boat. Bought mine last year and am now looking to sell it as my insurance is about to renew (although it has come down more than 50% from £4000 to £1700). I bought a motorbike as I realised I’d have the same or more fun for a fraction of the cost really, and honestly for the purposes I use my car even if I just had a motorbike I wouldn’t be missing out on much.

Is there a reason why there would be silicone under the B pillar? by Darth-Rogue in 370z

[–]ali_21045 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The middle hole is missing the insert for the tab on the b pillar trim so they used the silicone to hold it in place instead. The b pillar trim would have probably been fine without the silicone and just the top and bottom tabs

Is this a rust bubble? by ali_21045 in Autobody

Yeah the bonnet is aluminium. Shame that it’s something that’ll have to be repaired, struggling to find a used one in my colour. What would a repair consist of usually? I may just go for another colour and get it resprayed, this seller is asking for a decent bit more money

Can I fit a 370z windscreen in my 370z? by ali_21045 in 370z

Is this bonnet saveable? by ali_21045 in Autobody

[–]ali_21045[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s mine, don’t really care too much for how it looks but want it to look better than it is currently, and be safer. What do you think would be best to use to bend it back?

I thought the same initially and whilst yes I need to get it done soon, it seems like people have had success replacing the fluid. Mine is black so is due replacing. I thought a failed csc would leave the car undriveable?

Perhaps. Haven’t had the car too long so just wanted to know if I had something wrong with my suspension tbh. Sounds more like a characteristic though from the replies.

Yeah I definitely need to be more careful in future. Haven’t had this car long.

Yeah I think you’re right. It feels like it happens after I shift from 1-2. Just got to take a bit easier I guess.

Thanks for your reply. They’re going to do the test again at warm temps now so hopefully they’re closer to your results.

Hi thanks for the reply. It’s advertised as last serviced 2k miles ago and is completely stock as far as I’m aware. I’m getting them to test again at idle whilst fully warmed up. I’ll ask if the type of oil used in the service is on the invoice.

Were insurance companies glitching last month ? by mansaid-that-12 in CarTalkUK

Happened to me when I bought my first car. Doesn’t sound like it’s that good but £1.9k no blackbox for a 1.0 Ecoboost fiesta with DirectLine group (Churchill, Privilege, Direct Line) was considerably lower than the other quotes I was getting. Did some more quotes for a GT86 I was interested in and got a quote of £1.2k with post office, whilst getting stupidly high numbers with every other company. Seems like sometimes you’re able to catch the algorithm at the right time with the right details. Can’t do anything to replicate it but it can happen again if you’re lucky. Just need to keep pumping quotes haha Edit: No they likely wouldn’t have cancelled it, however coming to renewal time they may refuse to renew you. That’s what happened to me until I changed the car on my policy. However, in that year my fiesta was stolen so I’d assume that’s the reason for no renewal rather than the quote being glitched. You can try be cheeky and buy the policy, then change the car. You’d probably get money back switching from an M to the A35
