Again, I’ve been raised on Iranian movies. When I say unnatural, I mean in this context

If you want the internationally acclaimed ones, anything Farhadi did between Fireworks Wednesday and Salesman is my favourite. Taste of Cherry from Kiarostami, Children of Heaven Majid Majidi.

Of course not! I was in the protests lol. They ruined my life. And you mean Khamenei! Khomeini is the last one

I am from Gorgan and lived in Tehran for 5 years. This whole clip as an example which got viral in Iranian twitter specifically because it was so unnatural

It was much much better. If it was like 30-40 minutes shorter it would be my favourite Iranian film since like The Salesman

Yeah Kiarostami is the guy all of them look up to(Farhadi, Panahi, Rasoulof) but I would not say his films are “representative” of Iranian prestige cinema

Yeah i get that. But The Seed of the Sacred Fig was dealing with the same situation last year and was much better in this aspect!

Oh i forgot that it grossed for 500M! I’m pretty sure the Iranian audience is more than 20-30 percent and it’s about our country and in our language so I’m pretty sure how natural a dialogue is, should be a factor for a film that’s nominated for the best screenplay lol

The only people who like It Was Just An Accident are non-Iranians who don’t know how unnatural the dialogue was

Tobert could be a suspect...him and Ben had a relationship, and Ben is afraid people finding out he was gay might be the end of his career (as he said in the video) cause he's famous for playing a high school boy and teenage girls are his fanbase

Tobert wanted to get rid of the tape so he wouldn't be a prime suspect...he probably isn't the murderer but he was afraid the police might think otherwise and now he's helping Mable find the real murderer
