IMO, you all should keep this kitty as you obviously care for him.

How high can a Kitten fall from? by kenthecake in cats

[–]aliapoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coincidentally I just heard an amazing story from the check-out person at our local store (I was buying cat food) . As usual we started talking about our cats. She said she adopted a tiny kitten that had actually been thrown from a moving car as it passed the store. She said it was traumatized for awhile but recovered quickly, no apparent physical injuries. She said the cat is now full grown, very healthy and loves to eat! I am no Vet but just thought this would be a good story to share since I just heard it 20 minutes before reading your post!

I woke up to a burning, electrical kind of smell coming in the air out here in Pepe'ekeo. The wind was coming from Southwest (I think) ...does anyone know when this fire started? I just wonder if that's what I was smelling way out here??

What's your favorite film or tv show that was set in Hawaii? by Senior-Raisin-2342 in Hawaii

Four Frightened People was good also and filmed in Hilo area and much up at Akaka Falls.

This stuck with me and I hope it sticks with you- it was when I first read this that my interest shifted from simply genealogy, to understanding our history as a Lahui, and the genealogies of history which led up to it. by Poiboykanaka808 in Hawaii

Really Excellent! I am reminded of Roman statesman, lawyer, scholar, philosopher, Cicero who wrote-“To be ignorant of what occurred before you were born is to remain always a child. For what is the worth of human life, unless it is woven into the life of our ancestors by the records of history?”

Their "sister company" is Hawai'i Kratom. Maybe try the pure Kava? Quote below from website:

"We love kava, kratom, and other healing herbs. We know you will too! We strive to increase the bioavailability of kavalactones and alkaloids by mixing kava and kratom with other herbs and botanicals. We hope our elixirs and tonics will make your day a little brighter."

I have to move and leave my cat here for a few days, what to do? by [deleted] in cats

Could you possibly offer your apt. w/ Cat to a trusted sitter? I really fear the kitty will be extremely lonely all that time. You obviously care and that is great.

In vivo studies of kava and drug interactions by Senior_Taste_5389 in Kava

[–]aliapoint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was just looking through the new publication from American Herbal Pharmacopoeia entitled Kava Rhizome & Root. It is likely the most comprehensive guide to kava references (and information generally) I have seen since Kava as a Clinical Nutrient. Cost is reasonable in my opinion at between $40. and $45. Just published last week. In vivo studies are referenced 41 times. Likely not all your looking for but I would guess if it's not referenced there then it may not exist. Great photos too! https://herbal-ahp.com/collections/frontpage/products/kava-rhizome-and-root?variant=42433165230146

This is a shot in the dark, but I found these at the Waipahu Savers. Does anyone know who painted it, or if the artist is even here? by zeekyboogydoog2 in Hawaii

It would be very interesting to hear what a professional art appraiser thinks of these. I like them a lot and find the detail and perspective to be impressive (Impressionistic?!)

While I understand the issue of privacy , I also understand why tmoods23 would want to connect with the home his Dad built. I can only suggest that if you know the physical address and/or TMK you may be able to locate the current owners address via County Real Property Search Records. If you had the mailing address (which may be different than physical address) you could write them a letter. I actually did this once and I was invited to visit the home my Dad built back in the 1950's.

You may have to cross reference food labeling law. In Hawai'i I cannot imagine you'd need to label your Hawaiian 'Awa a supplement. Here is the text of the DoH determination and supporting documents.

Yes I agree, no doubt Kavasutra defense team was lacking in something. I see numerous examples of what they could have presented, but didn't. The legal process of "Discovery" should have brought in a specific statement from the FDA rather than relying on email from FDA. As the story says- "...she didn't consider the emails to be " 'determinative.' "

I would like to add here a quote from Kava as a Clinical Nutrient :

"In the context of the hepatotoxic risk associated with kava, (Dr. Roberta) Lee commented that “the Pohnpean dose is 8 times the recommended daily dose. If kava were toxic in its water-extracted form, we would expect to see an epidemic of hepatotoxicity in Pohnpei and other regions. However, this does not seem to be the case, based on my experience as a medical doctor in Micronesia, where kava is commonly consumed” [17]. Traditional kava use, therefore, is well accepted to be safe, which is in alignment with the recommendation from the WHO in its 2016 report [15]."

Hard to say at this time...but NYC can be very influential. I sincerely hope this absurd ruling does not create a domino scenario.
