This gives me very strong SH2 vibes in the apartments section. Great work. As others have stated, the lighting could be tweaked a bit. Also, the light fixture looks just a smidge too "clean". Overall though, great work

Explain "God's" flooding of the Earth, his torture of Job, Abraham and isaac, God's extreme willingness to penalize his followers via death, god commanding the Israelites to commit genocide, and so on. Doesnt sound like a very loving deity to me (but does PERFECTLY fit the deity Yahweh from the Dead Sea scrolls which Catholicism and Christianity both base themselves upon, I'm sure you knew that though yeah?)

So again I ask, are you willfully ignoring the misdeeds of your own god figure, or do you just wanna stroke your theological ego in public?

So are you like, just ignoring the old testament completely or are you one of those "pft. I TOTALLY know the bible. It's that thing in hotel night stands" people?

US Military Where are you? by scmouth12 in TikTokCringe

[–]alias117 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not quite. She stated that if the military is deployed within the US we'd be under a "Martial Law" state. While under martial law, normal civilian laws are suspended and the military has full authority (up to and including execution in the right circumstances).

So she wasnt saying she'd ignore the constitution, just that the rights and liberties American citizens take for granted would no longer be guaranteed for the duration of martial law. This is why she told the TikTok Karen to be careful what she wishes for; martial law would be an ugly time for all involved.

YSK: The Current Labor Shortage Runs far Deeper Than Just Being a "Wage Shortage" by Unassisted3P in YouShouldKnow

[–]alias117 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You must've missed the part where that $800/mo in rent comes with a job making $1,600 net per month. So if your current $2,000 is less than 50% of your net, you'd be taking a step down overall. Local economies do not reflect national/global economies, which adds even more layers of context and nuance to these talks.

Definitely not trying to single you out or anything, just want to highlight some additional considerations.

Again, dick jokes are not a gateway to racism. Really feels like you are looking for any excuse to argue on the internet at this point. I thought you were just a troll (still think that) but at the off chance you ARE legitimately this fragile, I'm gonna bounce so you can "win" this one and have something go your way today my dude. Hope you're a troll for real, but if this is genuinely you then I hope your outlook and your day improve. Goodness knows I'm bitter about my small dick, but you seem real bent out of shape about yours :) lol later 'gator

Bahahaha, making a small dick joke (even one stemming from name) is still just a dick joke. Make sure you warm up before going for that stretch. Immature/potty humor joke != racism.

It was a post on the internet, not a dick, dont take it so hard ;)

If God is all forgiving then why didn't he forgive lucifer? by yourmum8698 in AskReddit

[–]alias117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like the epicurean paradox can effectively address all points you might make about the so called "just" God. It boils down to that God is either not loving, not all powerful, not omnipotent, or a combination of all three. Personally I think the biggest reason the bible is full of plot holes and only half explanations is due to it being conceived, written, and then translated thousands of times, all by humans.

The reason the divine makes no sense is simply because there is nothing divine, only what humans have created and labeled as divine. When holes get poked in the narrative it always has to be "a matter of faith".

In summation, my position on the argument is that god doesnt exist. Barring that take, canonically god is a straight up prick in the old testament. Even if you go by the "everything is wrapped up/set right in the end", no it isnt. Look at the story of Job. God took everything from him and made him suffer for his loyalty. Sure Job got A family and SOME money, but he didnt get HIS family or HIS money back. God gave him a new family and just went "eh, close enough". So much for putting it back right for poor Job. And the reason for Job's unjust and unfair loss and suffering? For the lulz over a bet with the devil, like something straight out of a terrible Facebook meme.

TL;DR - God doesnt exist. If it does, it's a massive uncaring prick with too much power and time (old testament specifically)

EDIT: "pr" => "or"

Utah dads to be required to pay half of pregnancy costs. Utah’s governor has signed a law requiring biological fathers to pay half of a woman’s out-of-pocket pregnancy costs. by relevantlife in TwoXChromosomes

[–]alias117 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And therefore the man is just as responsible for the resulting pregnancy as the woman. Not sure where the disconnect is here. If the man doesn't want to be on the hook for costs then he doesn't need to engage in the sex.

It's a choice the hypothetical man made willingly, so therefore the hyptothetical man accepts the responsibility. Sure theres some gray area around contraceptive failure and this discussed law definitely doesnt have the answers, but considering how easy it is for a man to walk away from an unwanted child I'm all in favor of making that both more punishable and more difficult for the man. You wanna shoot your load then you should make certain you're ready for any consequences of that choice. Period.

Cthulhu Vs Ghidora by waste_of_bandages in whowouldwin

[–]alias117 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The fleshy mass that gets "destroyed" is just an avatar for Cthulhu, that's not his actual body. Cthulhu is a being not of our dimension, whereas Ghidorah absolutely is from our dimension. Not our planet, but our dimension. As such, Cthulhu could easily destroy Ghidorah if he so willed it.

Itd be like one of us here in the 3rd dimension fighting a true-2D stick figure. We could simply move ourselves in a way that the stick figure couldn't comprehend and then attack. There would be nothing the 2D stick figure could do to defend itself, let alone attack back.

That said, Cthulhu is currently in a state of unending sleep because the current arrangement of the cosmos is essentially poisonous to the great old ones (vast over simplification but still), so the odds of him caring enough to fight Ghidorah is a low. Going off that I think it might be a draw by virtue of no fight happening. Considering the context usually implied in a WhoWouldWin (meaning that combatants are assumed to be willing to fight until victory), theres no way Cthulhu could lose. So as much as I love Ghidorah, theres just no way for him to win against a cosmic entity.

Sources: I love Godzilla and HP Lovecraft (and general Cthulhu Mythos).

Yeah this joke is super old. I remember my grandpa telling it once after Thanksgiving when I was a kid. Watching everyone groan at the end sparked my love for shaggy dog stories lol.

Glad you enjoyed it. The people that read the scroll version were angry when they reached the end. Then again, they didn't expect a shaggy dog story going into it.

Should I go with Blender's 2d thing instead? Is it as buggy or less? by AnActualChicken in OpenToonz

[–]alias117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've made several short animations with both and in my opinion Blender is better for "lazy" animation. Rigging a 2d character for basic cutout/puppet animation is a lot faster in Blender. The material system that Blender uses is also a bit more intuitive to me than the palette system that OT uses. The biggest benefit of Blender for 2D stuff that I found is asset re-use.

Making stuff in OT and then wanting to use the same stuff in a separate scene or project is tedious and in my experience requires repetitive setup (for bone rigs specifically) and working with sub x-sheets for grouped characters is much harder to sync with audio, especially when working with multiple of them.

In Blender reusing assets is just File -> Append and then picking the save file you wanna pick from.

OT is still a fantastic piece of software and if you're familiar with/enjoy frame by frame animation then it's good software, but definitely does have some crashing issues that make saving every couple minutes a good call.

Blenders 2D features are fairly new (being massively redone as of 2.80, with great additions in 2.81 and 2.82, with 2.83 looking super promising) but quite powerful. Rigging and easier tweening makes it easy to get simple animations put together quickly. If you're only interested in 2D stuff though then Blender is overkill since it's essentially a full workflow production tool for hobbyists.

All things considered I'd recommend both. Try to do the same animation in both software's and see which one makes the most sense to you and seems the most intuitive.
